The Hon. Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (Industry), @dbahati at #RIC2026: East Africa already has a market of ~331 million people, heading toward 800 million by 2050. Raise purchasing power and we produce more, sell more. That only works if the region is secure. Silence the guns. Let people trade, compete and build. The task is simple and hard: produce more. Manufacture more. Export more. #EastAfricaRising #Industrialisation #EAC #ValueAddition #RIC2026 @mtnug @AGRA_Africa @EADB_Official @UgandaBaati @psf_uganda @mtic_uganda @ugandainvest @newsUMA @KEPSA_KENYA @tpsftz @EABCjumuiya @kampalaserena @InumaSolutions @mtic_uganda @mofpedU @EADB_Official @EABCjumuiya @TourismBoardUg @uiri_ug @kepsa_kenya @Cathiewabomba

“Africans will build Africa by investing in one another and building the industries that will move our continent forward” - @moodewji

As @TradeMarkAfrica 's @AnnaNambooze put it at the recently concluded #RIC2026; East Africa already has the markets, the capital and the will. What it still needs is facilitation, Transparent systems, Faster setup for local and foreign investors, Value addition at home, Fewer non-tariff barriers, Cheaper logistics, Skills that can run the machines. 2024 set the agenda. 2025 built the frame. 2026 was about execution. The next test is whether the EAC Industrialisation Policy, Special Economic Zones and the Common Market Protocol become time-bound action. The private sector is ready. Government must clear the path. #EastAfricaRising #Industrialisation #EAC #ValueAddition #RIC2026 @mtnug @AGRA_Africa @EADB_Official @UgandaBaati @psf_uganda @mtic_uganda @ugandainvest @newsUMA @KEPSA_KENYA @tpsftz @EABCjumuiya @kampalaserena @InumaSolutions @mtic_uganda @mofpedU @EADB_Official @EABCjumuiya @TourismBoardUg @uiri_ug @kepsa_kenya @Cathiewabomba

As @PSF_Uganda Board Chairman @humphrey_nzeyi set out at #RIC2026, the task is no longer diagnosis. It is concrete, time-bound action on the EAC Industrialisation Policy, Special Economic Zones and the Common Market Protocol so that regional commitments become industrial growth. Government and the private sector must now move in lockstep, predictable policy, coordinated infrastructure and incentives for regional sourcing, if East Africa is to become a true industrial powerhouse under @AfCFTA . The potential that remains is far larger. The conversation continues. #EastAfricaRising #Industrialisation #EAC #ValueAddition #RIC2026 @mtnug @AGRA_Africa @EADB_Official @UgandaBaati @psf_uganda @mtic_uganda @ugandainvest @newsUMA @KEPSA_KENYA @tpsftz @EABCjumuiya @kampalaserena @InumaSolutions @mtic_uganda @mofpedU @EADB_Official @EABCjumuiya @TourismBoardUg @uiri_ug @kepsa_kenya @Cathiewabomba

Governments should quantify the actual impact of barriers and the repercussions to the private sector -which is the engine of the EAC economies.

Relive the keynote delivered by the Minister of @mofpedU Hon. @henrymusasizi1 , at #RIC2026. Manufacturing, value addition and a unified regional market of 1.4 billion people remain the surest path to jobs, wealth and resilience. The private sector is the engine. Harmonising policies, removing NTBs, strengthening regional value chains & creating a predictable business environment are critical to driving industrial competitiveness and sustainable regional growth. The Uganda- Kenya partnership is central to making this ambition a reality. Kudos @mtic_uganda @STanna444
Uganda’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Hon. @STanna444, led a high-level delegation to Nairobi, where he represented H.E. President @KagutaMuseveni in engagements with H.E. President @WilliamsRuto and other senior government officials from both countries to advance trade and industrial cooperation between Uganda and Kenya. The visit featured a series of meetings, focusing on the harmonisation of trade and industry policies, particularly for products and sectors of mutual economic importance. The engagements provided an opportunity to examine challenges affecting cross-border trade and identify practical measures to facilitate the movement and marketing of goods between the two countries. Discussions also explored opportunities to promote value addition, strengthen regional supply chains and create a more predictable operating environment for businesses, manufacturers and investors. Particular attention was given to policy, regulatory and standards-related issues that can create barriers to market access and cross-border commerce. /1 @GovUganda @GovtOfKenya
