We work with the FBI and SVU to pull women and kids out of trafficking in San Francisco. But, we need your help. Funding cuts have put our programs in danger. Your donation helps us save lives. @DanielLurie @Scott_Wiener @CAgovernor restorativepathways.org

We Stand in Solidarity from Oakland!
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month in San Francisco. Today, I stood alongside the SF Domestic Violence Consortium, the Mayor’s Office for Victims’ Rights, the Department on the Status of Women, Supervisor Melgar, and city leaders to recognize survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and recommit to the work ahead. Domestic violence is a public safety issue. It doesn’t stay behind closed doors. It shapes the health of entire families, follows children into classrooms, pushes people into housing instability and homelessness, and repeats across generations when we fail to intervene. Too often, survivors are forced to choose between their safety and a roof over their heads. Breaking that cycle takes more than awareness. It takes sustained investment in prevention and early intervention, in the community organizations that answer the call every day, in legal counsel so survivors aren’t navigating protective orders, custody, and eviction proceedings alone, and in housing assistance so no one has to stay with an abuser because they have nowhere else to go. I’m grateful to the advocates, case managers, and frontline workers who carry this work all year long, and to every survivor who has had the courage to share their story. Our job at City Hall is to make sure the systems built to protect you actually work for you. I’ll keep fighting for the funding and the legislation that help survivors rebuild their lives on their own terms. If you or someone you know needs support, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788.

RESTORATIVE PATHWAYS NEWSLETTER OCTOBER EDITION This time of year, I think a lot about what “home” really means. For the people we serve, it often starts with something simple: a safe place to sleep, someone who believes in them, and the chance to begin again. In this issue, you’ll meet Kerri, who this month celebrates one year of recovery. You’ll also get a first look at Home for the Holidays, our online auction running November 1-10. “I’m still writing it”: Kerri’s Story When Kerri first came to Restorative Pathways, she was struggling with fentanyl addiction and wasn’t sure she would make it. Then came the moment that changed everything. After an overdose that took four doses of Narcan to bring her back, she woke up to see her service dog, Rebel, beside her and terrified. “I realized that my addiction wasn’t only hurting me,” she says. “It was hurting someone who loved and depended on me completely.” She walked away from fentanyl that day. The program gave her structure, and people who understood what she was going through. Just as important, it taught her she didn’t have to do this alone. This month, Kerri celebrates one year sober. She is now working toward a role supporting others in recovery. “Recovery isn’t just about stopping a drug,” she says. “It’s about finding a reason to live.” And Rebel is still right beside her. Stories like Kerri’s happen one day at a time, and so does the support behind them. A monthly gift helps keep recovery support steady, so the next person who walks through our doors finds people ready to walk with them. Give Once or Monthly Save the Date: Home for the Holidays An online auction for Restorative Pathways · November 1 to 10 For ten days this November, you can bid on a getaway, pick up a one-of-a-kind gift, or give something that helps a family in our care feel at home this season. Every dollar supports survivors and families as they build safe, stable lives. A first look Bid and win: Hawaii or Ireland, your choice. Seven nights for up to six guests, with up to three years to travel. A week in Lake Tahoe. Eight days at Hilton Club Lake Tahoe Resort for a family of four, with beach access, pools and hot tubs, and hiking or skiing nearby. San Francisco Giants tickets. Two seats, six rows from the field, for two 2027 games you choose from a list of dates. It’s a prime spot for home run balls, with ballpark eats close by. The ultimate tech bundle. A Meta Quest 3S VR headset, AirPods 4, and an 11-inch tablet, all in one. There’s more to bid on too, from a Date Night In basket for two and a chocolate lover’s indulgence from around the world to a Kendra Scott necklace. More items are being added every week, including one more getaway we’ll reveal soon. Give now: Some of the most meaningful gifts can’t be wrapped. With one click, you can give a family a safe night of shelter, fill stockings for kids in our care, put a holiday dinner on the table, or support a teen at Alameda County’s only children’s shelter. We’re building our crisis line back up, and we need people who can be a steady voice for someone in crisis. Thank you @CAgovernor for signing into law protections for those vulnerable to human trafficking. Thousands of young women (and men) are trafficked into sex work and forced labor in California every year. We help rescue them. Restorativepathways.org thecentersquare.com/californ…

We are expanding drug-free permanent supportive housing in San Francisco, thanks to legislation authored by District 6 Supervisor Matt Dorsey.   Our administration is transforming how the city confronts the homelessness and behavioral health crisis. We are not just getting people off the streets—we are helping them achieve long-term stability and recovery by standing up the right kind of housing and connecting them to the services they need.  Unsheltered homelessness is at its lowest level in 15 years. We have consolidated street outreach teams, increased shelter placements by 40%, and stood up more than 600 new treatment-focused beds. Today's legislation builds on that momentum. Thank you Supervisor Matt Dorsey for your leadership and partnership, our city is expanding and accelerating these critical efforts to keep San Franciscans safe and deliver better outcomes for our city’s most vulnerable residents. – at San Francisco, CA
