Can AI and crypto mining bridge the energy access gap? It might sound unlikely — but new innovations are reshaping what’s possible for #cleanenergy access in #Africa.
More than 600 million people across Africa still live without electricity. And 78% of them can’t afford even $5 a day to power basic #solar solutions. So how do we make Mission 300 — a bold effort to electrify 300 million people by 2030 — financially viable?
According to GEAPPs Alliance, startups like @exolabs, @Liquidstar, Overclock Labs, creators of @akashnet , an Virunga Energies are flipping the script. By embedding AI models and crypto applications into mini-grids, they’re generating 5-10x more revenue per unit of energy — making electricity cheaper for underserved communities.
For all of the AI agents and vibe coded apps it is insane that no one has made an agent or app that hotel employees can use to speed up the check in.
What. Are. They. Typing.
This is on the money the improvement of quality of US players in the last 15 years has been incredible.
On the flip side I think now that we have more conventionally good players it makes it easier for opponents to play us and we aren’t really getting better results as a team. We’ve gotten rid of ODP/Region 1/Bradenton/IMG so these guys aren’t really growing up consistently playing with each other day in day out.
We are still also missing a couple of those it factor stars and coaching / tactics but it’s in the right direction.
Outing myself:
I’m a mega soccer fan and in particular a USMNT fan
I follow all the young Americans playing in Europe
Most people have no idea how much youth soccer development has improved in America over the last 15 years
This is because of changes at the MLS academies, especially Philadelphia Union and NY Red Bulls (but also others)
We saw it in this international window with the success of youngsters: Cavan Sullivan, Mathis Albert, Julian Hall, etc
This kid though, Alex Freeman, is something different
His father was a Super Bowl winning wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers
Freeman is now one of the most promising young right backs in the world (currently at Villareal in La Liga, got man of the match against Real Madrid this weekend)
He’s one of the first max athletic young Americans who is also fully football (soccer) native / has the touch and game awareness of young European players
Exciting to see!

Instinct is significantly better than @Muse at the moment. It seems like muse is optimizing for cost while instinct is optimizing for understanding exactly what you want done.
Instinct is probably less compute efficient than @Muse and I only noticed this because instinct has basically stopped working today. I tried to redo a bunch of tasks i'd already done successfully with one pass using instinct and it's been incredibly painful with Muse.
Obviously a lot of that is probably due to Instinct being a startup and Muse being a part of a publicly traded company.

One of the greatest viruses of the modern man is looking at Instagram Stories. You will melt your brain looking at a barrage of outcomes—like vacations, parties, cars—with no visibility of the process that got them there.

The amount of people sharing local.ai referral links right now BEFORE we've even made our official announcement is crazy.
It's spreading organically from people sharing their referral links.
We'll be opening up early access slots again soon after integrating all the great feedback we're getting. The Local AI community is strong! 💛
Claimed names and referrals are safe, and the local.ai leaderboard is frozen.
We'll reopen early access soon with everything we've learned from the first 6.9K users integrated.

it brings me no joy to say this but if you’re the kind of guy that can get into a position to lose one or even ten billion dollars you’re the kind of guy that will be entrusted with billions more
The LA Olympics will be Lebron's "Last Dance," a behind the scenes documentary in Philly when he will be living in NYC makes no sense. Also kind of shocking that if this was the plan he's not playing in Cleveland.
LeBron James, ESPN closing in on agreement for behind-the-scenes documentary that will be similar to "The Last Dance," per @andrewmarchand.

Hear me out: Metrobar, but with the people movers instead. I’m welcoming investors and looking for land.
NEW: Say goodbye to the people movers at Dulles airport.
President Trump is set to unveil a $22.5 billion renovation of Dulles as soon as tomorrow that will scrap the mobile lounges, arguably the most unpopular part of the airport, and significantly expand the airports capacity.

These posts really make it seem like Anthropic has developed something internally that puts them way in the lead and the de facto winner of the race to AGI.
You could argue that Anthropic is the only one not virtue signaling.
If everyone believes in open source AI why do all of the signatories have private models?
The entire tech industry (save for Anthropic) has come out in favor of open source AI.
So what happens next? Will Anthropic change its lobbying efforts? Not likely. Now the gaslighting begins:
“Nobody is trying to ban open source.”
“We just want to limit who can use it.”
“We just want to limit who can contribute to it.”
“We just want to limit how powerful those models can be.”
“We just want to make sure the guardrails (we lobbied for) can’t be removed.”
The net effect will be the same. They won’t stop until they kneecap open source. The rest of the industry needs to watch these guys like a hawk.
