Interesting. I was disappointed with the sh2 remake when they removed this feature like “it’s a really old thing we should get rid of it or transform it”
I think it makes exploring more rewarding. Just my opinion though

Aside from the fact that this game’s greatest sin is how sauceless it looks when Wolverine should be metal af, this shows how these AAA adventure games are so cooked and uncreative, seems impossible for them to make some interesting mechanics outside punching things
Instead of using Wolverine’s sense of smell creatively let’s just make some horrible particle trace behind the target so that the dumb player doesn’t get lost
God of war for example has a refined incredible combat system and the rest is bullshit puzzle and boring traversal, cmon
Dude my cat follows me everywhere like she’s an npc locked following me it’s so funny got me feeling like a 90s platformer protagonist with a little sidekick on the shoulder
