These aren’t coming back. Look at the line of AirBridgeCargo 747s. Still parked. Same place, same condition, almost five years later. Sanctions cut the parts and the support. Certification lapsed. Crews moved on. AOC gone since late 2024. I still remember when these were the ones you saw on the ramp moving big freight. Now they’re just parked. It’s a visible example of how sanctions and support cut-off can freeze an entire fleet.

Imagine flying the oldest flying aircraft in the world and ending up like this – at least no one was killed ➡️ OTD in 2022: a private DHC-1 Chipmunk is involved in an incident at Bragado (Argentina). Pilot survives, four on the ground injured. On an aerial display, the aircraft´s wing hit an antenna. Pilot was able to land safely, four spectators were injured by falling debris. At the time of the accident, the aircraft involved [registration LV-NRY] was the oldest flying DHC-1 Chipmunk in the world – Have no info if it was rebuilt More accidents from this date on the 1st comment, including the “Precision Air” accident in Africa that showed no precision flying, one of the worst crashes in Luxembourg, a very near miss in England, the Britannia testing crash and the Jacksonville Midair collision.

This S-92 rejected its takeoff after a loss of power, and the footage shows how quickly it went wrong. It starts as a normal departure. The helicopter is low over the treeline, rotors turning, and it looks like it’s about to climb away. Then the power loss hits, and it never gets away. It starts coming back down above the trees and sinks toward the shore. The descent is fast and steep. It drops through the trees and past the boat sheds with nothing slowing it down, and it hits the ground hard. It looked like a very heavy, violent touchdown 🚁
