the idea that black children have to suffer through racist nonsense during the most formative years of our life in order for white kids to learn a lesson is truly so evil. y'all want to sacrifice our safety and sanity for the sake of white ignorance

if you can watch THE DROPOUT, witness the story of ian gibbons killing himself, and come out of it feeling bad for elizabeth holmes because of how amanda played her… there is something wrong with you.
you need to meet reality. immediately.

elizabeth holmes caused people actual pain. she caused death. she did that. that means everyone is allowed to make fun of her. that’s it. there’s no debate. even if her technology worked, all of her actions around it caused pain anyway. her company caused pain. REAL PAIN.

she’s an actress. she did her job. no one got hurt. grow up.
I think Nathan Fielder did a really good job with You Can See Everything. Especially in showing how unwilling Amanda Seyfried was to acknowledge her own role in potentially harming another person. He had everyone looking at one another and questioning everyone else’s intentions, while seemingly being completely unwilling to examine their own behavior. I thought Amanda’s resistance to doing that was especially revealing
I also obviously think Billy is terrible. I think he’s cruel and exploitative. I’ve seen Elizabeth’s tweets for years and thought they were her. Finding out they’re his was jarring and sad.
But as much as I dislike Billy, I think he made a very good point. Why would he care what Amanda thinks? She’s an actress who has profited from portraying his wife as a bizarre and dishonest and manipulative freak to an audience that is largely voyeuristic, incredibly binary in their moral thinking, and seemingly unable to separate fiction from reality
I don’t think that Amanda needed to defend Elizabeth or excuse anything she’s done but I do think it’s bizarre how unwilling she seemed to consider that she might have contributed to another person’s suffering

She was a delight to direct & so naturally funny. She loved the joke about her make-up remover being strong enough to blow open a jailhouse door. I had her do a few extra unnecessary takes just to make the experience last a little longer. Brightened the day of all in room.

Barry Keoghan says the online hate he receives for his looks has made him “not want to go outside”:
“There’s a lot of hate online. There’s a lot of abuse of how I look, and it’s kind of past the point of — you know, everyone goes through that… but it’s made me shy away. It’s made me really go inside myself, not want to attend places, not want to go outside. I say this being absolute pure and honest. It’s becoming a problem. […] I’m still a curious human being that wants to go on [the internet]. And if I attend an event or if I go somewhere, you want to see how it’s received. And it’s not nice, you know?”

The world holds so much misery that miserable hearts forget the face of happiness.
They grow comfortable being sore losers, so when they see real sportsmanship it unsettles them! like holy water touching a demon. Because clapping for someone else’s victory requires something many people never learned…how to win with grace & pure joy, and how to lose with grace, chin up & dignity.
