Nolan should be starting at PG until Mikel is ready to take over. Ellis is our best defensive player but our defense still stinks with him.
Randle wouldn’t be running the point if the actual point guard could get a paint touch

there is so goddamn much to read — both old and new, by both men and women — and i wish more of these "there's nothing for men" dudes realized that. walk into any bookstore and you'll find a damn treasure trove
Me and the other luminaries decided to make some pronouncements on the state of literature for @GQMagazine gq.com/story/state-of-books-…

43 execs in NBA history have run one team (in the modern era) for 10+ years. Sean Marks ranks out of 43: 41st in win% (.419) 42nd in playoff win% (8-21) Tied 2nd-fewest series wins (1) This is a historically awful resume for a 10 year exec At what point do results matter? We are now in Year 11 of a "we want to start winning games" year and the team looks worse than ever, very few young players have actual promise @joetsai1999 Please stop letting this grifter fool you The only other current GMs with 10+ years are Pat Riley and Sam Presti why did Sean Marks get this kind of job securty?

It’s not only that. The young talent fucking stinks. 8 draft picks used between 2023 and 2025 and maybe 2 of them are long term pieces. Thays awful asset management. You have to get new leadership

Marks is good at accumulating assets and seller moves but he struggles with identifying the right cash in / win now moves is my read Even during 7/11 it sounds like KD basically had to force him to trade for Harden, 7/11 was FA signings not trades, it feels like he hasn't adjusted to FA not mattering and keeps trying to hoard cap space for some reason when tradable contracts + picks + respectability is the new way to attract talent not cap space
What's bizarre about Nets discourse is the lack of nuance. Sean Marks was unequivocally a top 5 GM from 2016-2021. Since the Harden trade he has gone downhill. That does not mean the KD and Mikal trades were not excellent, they were. But KD and Mikal were traded years ago.

I think what bothers fans is nets big brain these things like they’re smarter than everyone. Do things differently and then don’t win lol
Jordi Fernandez said Mikel Brown Jr. won't be off his minutes restriction anytime soon: "We have a plan from our medical and performance [team]... At some point, he'll be able to play more minutes, he'll be able to play back-to-backs, but it's not right now or anytime soon.”

went to the game with my brother, don't think we've ever left the barclays more demoralized about the state of the team
Yes it’s only one game but the fanbase was revved up and ready to believe but then… damn shame

When the Nets have looked the best under Jordi and actually strung together Ws, it’s usually w/ good PG play as the catalyst (ironic that Schroder was the one cooking us). Last night was the opposite of good PG play. Easy solution — start Mikel Brown Jr. at PG and never look back

entirely reasonable opinion imo
Nets had max cap space and 7 draft picks over the last 2 years and the team is bad, unfun, and uninspiring. I am not an overreactor, I’m really not and I tend to tell people to chill this early, but Sean Marks needs to be extracted from Brooklyn

Egor isn’t a point guard. The draft analysts kept comparing him to Ben Simmons and it was as obvious then as now that that is not who he is. Start Traore or Mikel with Egor and everyone looks better. Also it’s tiring Egor out getting blitzed full court

It’s actually crazy how you grow up thinking home-cooked meals every day are just normal, then get older and realise how much time and effort it took your Mom to make that happen and how lucky you were to have that.

THERE IS PLENTY TO READ WHAT IS WITH THESE PEOPLE
There will be an American literary renaissance, but it won’t happen in academia. MFA programs have wrecked contemporary American literature. The renaissance will happen in small collectives of independent writers who start their own presses and journals. I think it’s already beginning.

“American literary culture” seems fine to me? why is everyone so whiny about shit like this
American literary culture will come back. We're in the lull period. But it will come back.
