What terrifies me is if Trump were to detonate a nuclear device in an American city. Imagine the backlash against complicit Republicans.

Checked the Cheesecake Factory's corporate comms to see if they ever did any trans or BLM stuff in 2020 that would ruin this moment for them. Sure enough, nothing. They're playing 4D chess.

People would rag this movie for removing the anti-consumerist messaging but I honestly kind of love that it goes for the reverse and that escaping from the comforts of structured corporate safety is a terrible mistake
Watching the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake and I dunno what current public opinion on it is these days but I still think this movie absolutely fucking rips

“Sodom and Gomorrah” leans real hard on Sodom Everyone refers to Sodom, sodomy is a thing, sodomite, etc etc Gomorrah’s just slowly tiptoeing away like “who’s to say what we did”

Next up as a Trumpian bogeyman and scapegoat: Taiwan. You can tell a lot about a person by what he thinks of Ukraine and Taiwan. You can tell a lot about a party and a movement, too.
Trump: "Look, if we had smart presidents, the Taiwan problem with China wouldn't exist. Nobody would care. They stole our chip business. All of it. 100 percent."

Why would you call something Mitch McConnell did the Schumer rule 😂. The unwillingness to grapple with the way two court seats were handled by McConnell by anyone on the right is going to lead to total SCOTUS calvinball for the foreseeable future. Cake was baked in 2020.
It is quite possible that the new rule — the Schumer Rule? — will be that if one party has the majority, it will _never_ hold a hearing on a Supreme Court nominee from a president of the other party, no matter how much time remains until the next election. Democrats talk a lot about expanding the Supreme Court, but if, God forbid, there’s an unexpected vacancy in the next two years, they may well end up shrinking it temporarily.

There'd be fewer mainstreamed conspiracy theories, if that's what you mean.
How different would America, the world look today if not for the @elonmusk takeover of censorship-obsessed Twitter?

Falstaff says that he is not only witty in himself but also the cause of wit in others. Trump is not only vile in himself but also the cause of vileness in others. Republicans adopt his insults, grievances, and lies. To be an individual is both hard and crucial.

I find it very interesting that those who call Zelensky a dictator for not holding elections during an invasion of his country seem to have absolutely no problem with the Trump administration supporting a delay in democratic elections in Venezuela because "the economy has not stabilized."

This report is a perfect example of Trump administration lies and incompetence. Biden let in millions of new illegal immigrants. DHS claims to have deported 1 million of them, mostly criminals, but they're actually deporting the easiest to find people here legally for decades, with citizen families.
A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him. Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country where he had no ties. He was then sent to his home country, despite a determination by a U.S. immigration court judge that he could not be deported there due to likely persecution. cbsn.ws/3Ude66r

that six-month period where zoomers somehow deluded themselves into swinging right for Trump feels like a fever dream my vibes-based crank hypothesis is that a lot of people just remember Trump as the "before COVID" guy and voted to make it like COVID never happened
In the latest New York Times poll, *not a single one* of the 186 respondents aged 18 to 29 strongly approved of the Trump administration's handling of the cost of living

Replying to @JoelWBerry
Joel, do you think other people who lack legal status but who have lived otherwise productive and law-abiding lives might have wives and kids and other people devastated by their deportations? Or just your own friends?

"Do you have the votes?" became the standard the instant McConnell put ACB up, weeks before an election, after spiking Garland 8 months before an election. The rule isn't new, and it isn't Schumer's.

Sometimes it’s fun to remember things that happened in the first Trump administration, because they could never happen in this one. Like for example there was a Special Counsel investigating Trump. That happened! And people said it would be unthinkable for Trump to fire him!

Yesterday Trump repeatedly called Abdul El-Sayed a "jihadist", told Nicki Minaj she had a "beautiful ass" and asked her to stand up so the crowd could admire it, and yet the dumbest people on Twitter are still pretending to be offended by a mention of the Cheesecake Factory.

Imagine if you stood up at work and said “You know who has one hell of a beautiful ass? It’s Carol from accounting. Stand up Carol! Show them your ass!” You’d be fired within the hour but the president gets a pass because everyone has accepted the fact that he’s a scumbag.
Trump: I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before, Nicki Minaj. That's hard to miss.
