Bring back the bird. The x is just lame and stupid (yes, just like the guy trying to burn this site to the ground).

An entire side of my family is from the Tularosa Basin, including my dad, and this has been talked about for many years. Please read - using this region as a nuclear test site has had devastating health impacts for local tribes and long-time residents. #NMdownwinders
Eyes will turn towards New Mexico with the premiere of "Oppenheimer," but New Mexico Downwinders have a counter-narrative. Theirs is one of the community's health becoming "collateral damage," from Trinity Test site detonation, said Tina Cordova.

I noticed a drop in DMs and apparently this is why. My setting was automatically changed from “everyone” to “people I follow and verified”. 😐 You’ll need to go fix this manually if you want open DMs too.

If you have an injured or dead animal on your property, call *277. Use this number if you strike an animal with your vehicle (but it limps away) or if you see an animal in trouble. Also use that number if you see a vehicle pushing or nudging animals on a roadway. That's illegal.

#devilsthumbfire Fire size is estimated at 95 acres with 10% containment. Crews will work on building containment lines. Road barricades are in place at the boundaries of James Peak Wilderness on FSR 128 (Water Board Road) to prevent traffic in the Devil’s Thumb Trailhead area.

And last #runchathunt item: a cat. Seriously, the cat one was so hard. A live cat was spotted twice but disappeared before I grabbed my camera. #runchat
Last two #runchathunt items: first up is a railroad crossing. #runchat
Yes, truth. Fireworks in Colorado are surprisingly quiet (though tend to have someone blasting music from a vehicle).

⚠️Happening Now 7/4 at 2:30 pm:
We are responding to a reported wildland fire east of the Devils Thumb area. United States Forest Service, East Grand Fire Department & the Sheriff's Office are responding. No evacuations, please do not call 911.

Next up for #runchathunt is a cemetery. Of note: the “Holzworth” stone is in fact marking the final resting location of the family that owned the (now historic) Holzworth/Never Summer Ranch in Rocky Mountain National Park (west side). #runchat
Was talking to the husband about the remaining items I need to find for #RunChatHunt and my strategy. I told him I needed a cat and a cemetery (& trail/RR crossing) and he thought I said "cat in a cemetery" and was thinking "wow, that would be really hard!" 🤣 @therunchat
