This is not America, bud. Where the government can cover up for a paedophile president who is already a proven rapist. We do justice properly.

BREAKING: The Senate just voted 50-46 to strip Donald Trump of his power to impose tariffs.
Multiple Republicans joined Democrats to shut him down, second night in a row the GOP has turned on him.
Trump’s grip on his own party is cracking in real time.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
These Senate votes took place in October 2025, not this week. The Senate passed S.J.Res.88 on global tariffs 51-47, the vote shown in the video. The 50-46 vote, held the same week, was on Canada tariffs.

Russell Brand's conviction for rape was quickly followed by the news that he is already under investigation over two other rape allegations - with the prospect of even more to come

I’ve seen this look before. It’s how the medically compromised elderly patients look who are close to death, so they are given a cocktail of benzodiazepines and opiates to keep them comfortable and subdued while awaiting their “departure.”
I’m a healthcare worker by the way.

Just for the rape apologist misogynists defending Brand, I would like to remind you all that the reaction to the first allegations about Jimmy Savile were the same.
It will be the same hateful, ignorant woman haters in both cases.

I have a law degree, which still doesn't give me the brazen confidence of rape apologists who suddenly become legal experts overnight.
It's quite remarkable.
Russell Brand would have an excellent chance of overturning his conviction on appeal. There is plenty of reasonable doubt and even an untrained eye can see that his conviction is unsafe. #RussellBrandtrial

Here is a wild prediction: I think Russell Brand will get 15-20 years in jail for the convictions in this trial. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. There will be more victims coming forward and I think we could see another trial. I think Brand will stay in jail for life.
Brilliantly put

The ignorant are armed with a voice louder than any knowledge, so that the mediocre may spit upon the rare & the strong.
What once required ascent, discipline, & the long solitude of thought is now trampled under the democratic stampede of the unqualified.

Oh, hold up. Did you know the origin of the word *spinster* refers to a female who was so skilled at weaving that she was able to achieve financial independence all on her own??
I feel like this changes the entire plot. 😳
And I seem to remember she got some criticism for doing so. Now we can all thank Katherine for having the guts to speak out

Russell Brand mildly sexually harassed me at a party in 1999. It didn’t occur to me to report him, it was just part of the experience of a young woman working at the Edinburgh festivals in those days, he wasn’t even the worst. But anyone arguing that he’s not guilty is a mad cunt

Amazing the number of keyboard warriors on here who don’t know the legal definition of rape in the UK, so this one’s for them:
Sexual Offences Act 2003
(1) A person (A) commits an offence if -
(a) he intentionally penetrates the vagina, anus or mouth of another person (B) with his penis
(b) B does not consent to the penetration, and
(c) A does not reasonably believe that B consents.
That’s the offence that a jury found Russell Brand guilty of and that’s why he must now serve a significant custodial sentence.
A very small amount of rapes are actually reported. The reason a very small amount of rapes are actually reported are because of people like you. Because people like you will tear them apart.

But why didn't she go to the police? She just let a sexual predator go about abusing women for over a decade and did nothing?

The sound of silence: Russell Brand’s far-right cheerleaders fall strangely silent
When Russell Brand first faced allegations of sexual violence, prominent right-wing figures denounced an establishment conspiracy to bring him down. Now that a jury has convicted him, their confident claims have been replaced by a deafening silence
