Thanks Ben! I'm looking forward to chatting to the audience about Whistle Down the Wind on Sunday at ArtHouse in Crouch End. Link to tickets in shared post. And more Bryan Forbes to come on the next two Sundays.
One of my favourite films of all time is screening this Sunday (18th October) @arthouseN8 with an intro by the fabulous @ReelJoBotting. It’s a bona fide masterpiece and it’s a brand new 4K restoration so will look marvellous. Check it out. Tix here arthousecrouchend.co.uk/prog…

Peter Greenaway's latest film is stuck in post-production hell. This article is a good overview of the film's seemingly intractable problems. It fails to mention though that Greenaway's previous film Walking to Paris is stuck in exactly the same quagmire: theguardian.com/film/2026/oc…
Spotted in Piccadilly this morning. Xmas gifts for those hard-to-buy-for relatives: solid silver lids for your pantry staples.
Really looking forward to seeing The Slipper and the Rose on the big screen with an excellent introduction from Ming!
.@BFI Join us at #ArthouseCrouchEnd this Sun 11 Oct at 14.30 for a rare screening of #TheSlipperandtheRose, introduced by me! #BryanForbes @ReelJoBotting
The Slipper and the Rose, a witty, sophisticated musical with a great cast, is having a rare screening: 11 Oct 2.30 @arthouseN8. Intro by @Minghowriter. I got to see one of Julie Harris's fab costumes irl earlier this year (not a glam one!). Tix: tinyurl.com/37kkjt5s
Some souvenirs of last night's Dracula in 4k premiere in Leicester Square and after party. The Hammer marketing team had even covered all the mirrors in the Ladies (see pic 3)!
You did a great job and what a fun evening! I chatted to some fabulous women afterwards who were fans back in the day and shared memories of seeing the band live.
King Rat: Bryan Forbes' moving adaptation of Clavell's sprawling novel about life in Changi prison camp, with an incredible cast. Showing @BFI Southbank 29 Sept 6pm, intro by Bryan's daughter Sarah. Was sold out, but a few tickets have just been released: bit.ly/4ypMtWG
On this day ten years ago I was interviewed for my own job as part of a very grim restructure. I was then lucky enough to be taken to lunch at the Garrick by Christopher Miles. He wanted to discuss his 1963 film Six-Sided Triangle starring his sister Sarah.
The Wrong Box, Bryan Forbes' star-packed romp, stars Pete and Dud as grasping siblings while Ralph Richardson is superb as the world's most boring man. Nanette Newman introduces! 22nd September 6.15. Tix:

Today I was treated to an afternoon of Ghanaian culture at Genesis cinema, including a screening of the 1983 film His Majesty's Sergeant. The negative of the film is preserved at the #BFINationalArchive.
Bryan Forbes' comedy The Wrong Box is daft but I love it. Nanette Newman will be @BFI Southbank to introduce it on 22 September, 6.15, part of #BryanForbesAt100. tickets: tinyurl.com/3fsxmfnp

Idea for TV series. Homes Under The Hammer House Of Horror.
The hosts visit abandoned and derelict houses and get killed off by a different thing each episode ,(mould, Restless spirits, ceiling collapse, etc,,) until all the hosts are dead and the series ends.
Really looking forward to hearing Paul's take on this terrific film. #BryanForbesAt100
