RefillSilverLakeNOW

Biggest boos of all for Silver Lake Forward member who says we need to follow Daniel Burnham, "make no little plans" in rethinking reservoir

It seems clear many residents here find any comparison of Silver Lake Rez to Echo Park Lake -- or Silver Lake to Echo Park? -- offensive.

Whoah. O'Farrell says there is consensus on landscaping path around lake. That riles up crowd. One man in third row stands up, shouts at O'F

O'Farrell, wrapping up: next meeting by end of summer. Feelings will run gamut and will all be heard. Let's be open-minded re longterm plans

Commenter: Have been alarmed tonight that "broader group" will decide future of reservoir.Does that mean designers, developers from outside?

Comments from members of Silver Lake Forward pushing back against idea of no additional uses. They are *roundly* booed.

Huge applause for that one

Second commenter: has been talk about amphitheater or park or some other public use and we can assure you community does NOT want that!

This is of course heart of the matter. O'Farrell says there will be time later for that debate, promises it will be open and "transparent."

Adams: plan prob is to begin refilling reservoir in spring, have bottom covered with water by June

Ryu: "The Silver Lake Reservoir will be refilled."

Comment: please consider the traffic implications of any future plans for reservoir. [can't believe it took that long to come up!]
