No job in Canada requires you to not be a straight white man in order to be qualified. A very small share of postings are restricted to certain groups, and that's a fair thing to debate. But most are open to everyone, and every hire still has to meet the same qualifications.

The prices you pay are utterly disconnected from the value you receive. At minimum, you're paying for insane insurance and regulatory overhead. But typically you're paying the maximum someone can feasibly squeeze you for before you go through hell and back to find an alternative

I believe YAML-DSLs grow from bad assumptions: 1. Config is data, not code 2. We want to prevent clever metaprogramming of config 3. It's declarative 4. YAML is easy 5. Users can't handle "real code" Really only one positive: it's easier to programmatically modify YAML
