🇺🇸CFTC and USDA signed an agreement Wednesday to strengthen oversight of U.S. agricultural markets in an effort to flag structural and systematic risks.
This follows CFTC's recent decision to publish Commitments of Traders reports twice weekly.

Kansas Corn is appreciative of the Trump Administration's efforts to address the challenges facing our farmers. High input prices, low commodity prices and access to markets remain amongst farmers' top concerns.
The Harvest Fuel Relief Program will help ease the burden as we work to accomplish some of our long-term priorities to make the agricultural economy healthier, like signing year-round E15 into law, overhauling the USDA's reporting data and strengthening relationships with trading partners.

Phosphate values remain flat while corn/grain values continue to take a beating.
How bad is the relationship at the start of fall application?
With a current ratio of 172 bushels of corn per 1-ton of DAP, only 7% of the weeks going back to 2020 have been as high or higher...

With UAN rising/corn falling, the current ratio sits at 82 bushels of corn per 1-ton of UAN.
That puts it in the highest 20% of recent years.
Unfortunately, multiple production plants are heard sold into 2027 so little reason to drop prices/plenty of reasons to boost them...

Updated fertilizer/corn ratio charts:
Urea - expected to set recent year high for Nov/Dec
UAN - challenging 2022 for recent year high records
DAP - 2nd highest ever this time of year, likely to set all-time high's for Nov/Dec
Potash - high vs normal range with corn prices lower

This graph can be read 2 ways:
- Urea is starting to look cheap vs UAN
- UAN is starting to look expensive vs urea
Well, I guess 3 ways:
- Both are stupidly high priced, but urea looks better in comparison.
I'll go with that 3rd option.

🇧🇷AgRural lifts Brazil's 2026/27 soybean crop estimate to 182.7 mmt on a slightly larger planted area. Area growth has been in doubt this year amid tight margins & fertilizer concerns.
About 7% of the crop was planted as of Thursday. Brazil supplies ~60% of global soy exports.

2025 ARC/PLC update! USDA reports national MYA prices of $4.16 for corn and $10.50 for soybeans.
For 2025 only, eligible enrolled farms receive the higher of ARC-CO or PLC. Your payment depends on your farm’s information—check with FSA for your amount.

Where Does U.S. Corn Go? 🌽
Most people think the Corn you see in the field goes directly into human food consumption - that's far from the truth
In reality most of the Corn that is cultivated ends up in the following demand centers:
🐷Feed: For animal consumption (livestock)
⛽️Ethanol: Roughly 10% of your gasoline in your tank is actually Ethanol made from Corn
🥤Food & Seed: Most is used for High Fructose Corn Syrup (sweetener), thereafter starches and flour. (Very little is left over as seed)
🌏Exports: Mainly ends up in feed elsewhere in the world (Mexico, Japan)
🤗Carryout (Ending Stocks): Not all Corn that is produced will be consumed, this Corn ends up acting as a "buffer" between crop years to smoothen out supply/demand shocks that could materialize
Consult the chart below to see exactly how much Corn ends up in the "Food" category 👇

🌽 December corn's 2026 high currently sits at $5.49-3/4 per bu from Sept. 2. It would be incredibly unusual if that high holds.
Since 1973, December corn set its annual high in September just twice. October? Once.
