Charity and I, along with members of my staff, were invited by Kirchhoff Automotive in Waverly, Ohio to participate in their second annual Kids Around the World Initiative. Volunteers throughout the community came together to pack nutrient rich meals for impoverished children around the world. Thank you Kirchhoff Automotive for bringing the community together with this meaningful and much needed project!

Celebrating more than 200 years of family farming right here in Ross County! This weekend I was pleased to honor 7 farms that represent generations of hard work, dedication, and stewardship of our prime farmland that keeps food on Buckeye families’ tables. Local farms like Blue Chew Farms, Dunlap Farms, Cory Farms, Chenoweth Farms, Dill Farms, SKM Farms, and Peterson Farms secure our food supply chain and keep our local economy moving forward. In Congress, I was proud to support legislation making it easier than ever for families to pass their farms to the next generation. Great stopping by the Scioto Township Volunteer Fire Department in Jackson County to thank the first responders there for keeping our community safe! Celebrating 50 years of service to Jackson County, this volunteer department is powered by the men and women who make themselves available to serve Buckeye families on their darkest days. Charity and I were honored to recognize the rich history and lasting legacy of President Ulysses S. Grant at the Land of U.S. Grant Forum in Georgetown, Ohio! An Ohio native who rose to become the Commanding General of the Union Army and the 18th President of the United States, Grant holds an important place in our state’s and nation’s history. This event brought together historians, educators, and community members to preserve his legacy and inspire future generations. Thank you to the team at The Land of U.S. Grant for making this celebration possible!

It was a pleasure joining Liberty Landing for a ribbon cutting in New Richmond this afternoon! This redesigned marina and streetscape project is a welcome development in our community, and we’re grateful to the State of Ohio’s Appalachian Grant program for making this $13.4 million project possible. Southern Ohio is growing quickly, and I was proud to help celebrate today!

Great meeting with Brown County Veterans Services this afternoon! I chatted with Director Kenneth Tyler Crank and his team about the needs they’re seeing among our local veteran community and how Congress can best support their programs. I will continue to be a staunch advocate for our heroes in Congress!

I was honored to attend the Adams County Medical Foundation Gala recently and celebrate the support they are providing to Adams County families! They provide scholarships for students seeking careers in the medical field, helping set them up for a successful future. It was great saying hello to CEO Alan Bird of the Regional Medical Center and Executive Director Cherish Williams of the Foundation. I look forward to continuing to work alongside local organizations to ensure southern Ohio students and families have an opportunity to thrive!

I recently toured the new Cincinnati Children’s Eastgate facility in Union Township, where Operations Manager Barbie Price filled me in on their facilities’ capabilities and the services they provide. I appreciated talking with their staff and learning more about their operations in our community.

This morning I headed out to Higginsport for the Slim Sallee Memorial River Park Ribbon Cutting! It’s wonderful to see developments like this one in our community that Buckeye families can enjoy for decades to come.

Yesterday I toured @HolzerHealth in Jackson and got a behind-the-scenes look at their emergency department and therapy services. I appreciated sitting down with leadership and staff and talking about how Congress can best support rural health care needs across Appalachia.

Thank you to the Central Midwest Regional Council of Carpenters for welcoming me and providing an opportunity to hear from Buckeye Hills Career Center students about the Council’s training programs! I got to see firsthand how Ohio’s future workforce is being developed right here in our own backyard. Programs like these prepare the next generation with the hands-on experience, knowledge, and work ethic needed to build successful careers. I will continue advocating for workforce development in southern Ohio to ensure our region remains a great place to live and raise a family for generations to come!

My team was pleased to host a Tax Clinic to assist constituents with the tricky IRS issues they’re experiencing. Thank you to representatives from the IRS’s Taxpayer Advocate Service for attending and providing professional help to Ohioans!

Ohio is leading the nation in energy development, and the Wayne National Forest plays a critical role in that effort. With more than 240,000 acres of land located almost entirely in OH-02, Buckeye communities deserve to reap more of the rewards of energy development happening in our own backyard.
