Underrated life advice: Be careful what you normalize around your kids. How you speak to your spouse. How you treat your body. How often you complain. How you talk about others. What feels ordinary in your house becomes how they'll act as adults outside of it.

When gov’t picks/chooses whose privacy matters, equality disappears. SLCounty cites UCA 63A-19 to redact jail roster details. That law requires minimum data collection. Meanwhile, ALPRs log ordinary drivers every day. Mismanagement isn’t just the budget. Better is on the ballot.

Tax+Tax+Tax+Tax+Tax+Tax = 😭 We talk a lot about individual tax increases, but not nearly enough about how they stack on top of each other.

. @tvheidihatch Last Friday around noon, my wife called me crying. Dozens of people had just been laid off at her workplace. She watched coworkers crying, hugging each other, and saying goodbye. This happened right here in West Jordan, just 9 minutes from our home. #Utpol #SaltLakeCounty

Why didn’t I actively fundraise or seek endorsements? Because too often they come with strings attached. I’m running because I don’t believe we’ve been served well. We deserve better. Better is on the ballot.

In this video I said $317,000. That isn’t correct - it’s $117,000. Being accurate matters to me and I want to clarify that I misspoke. Everything else is correct.

As I’ve said before, Mayor Wilson crafts the budget. The Council just approves it. And considering the Council is part time and has barely any staff, this should come as no surprise to anyone paying attention to SLCounty Government. The Council takes the brunt of what Mayor Wilson pushes when it comes to tax increases. Dems love that narrative because it lets them off the hook. Rather than cutting out-of-scope county programs (meaning they are “nice to haves,” not required by law) or looking at leaning out the DA and Sheriff’s office (which comprises 75% of the General Fund, which is funded by property taxes), she’ll just keep putting the burden on you to pay for her office’s incompetence and malfeasance. In my world, there is only one response: “No way. Do better. And don’t come back until you have a budget that doesn’t require a tax increase.” The private sector does this every day on bigger budgets. Maybe that’s why all of our GOP candidates for SLCo county offices this year have vast experience outside local government. @RepubliKate (CC At-Large) @Mikee_Bird (CC District 3) Traci Crockett (CC District 5) @chris4auditor @DavisforDA (DA) Shane Manwaring (Sheriff)
Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson proposed a 2027 budget focused on changes to the county’s criminal justice system. Under the proposal, eligible people would be sent to supervised treatment instead of jail. The budget would also modernize and consolidate jail facilities and expand mental health treatment in the jail. kutv.com/news/local/salt-lak…

And if you live in Salt Lake County Council District 1, please vote for Casey Poe. Let’s restore common sense and fiscal responsibility in Salt Lake County.
They ignored you. They raised your taxes anyway. Now they’re about to feel it. Salt Lake County Council jammed through a ~14% property tax hike over public outcry. Hundreds showed up. They didn’t care. Your bill went up. They stayed comfortable. Casey Poe got ignored too. So he did what they never expected: he filed to run.Salt Lake County District 1, you finally have a real choice. Not more of the same people who treat your tax bill like a suggestion. Casey Poe is the Libertarian who watched the council dismiss homeowners and decided enough. Lower taxes. Cut the waste. Stop pricing people out of their own homes. They had their chance to listen. They didn’t. November 3. Vote Casey Poe (L) 🗽
