Too many people's lives are made harder and shorter because of a mental health problem. But it doesn't have to be this way. If the Government take concerted action, we can build a mentally healthier nation. centreformentalhealth.org.uk…

Thank you so much, @PaulaBarkerMP, for highlighting the critical importance of intermediate care for people facing homelessness. Along with specialist hospital teams, intermediate care after a hospital stay can end people's homelessness and provide a safe recovery for all.
Intermediate care for those facing homelessness, recommended by NICE, can reduce rough sleeping by up to 70 per cent. We need to embed this approach across the country and put an end to the postcode lottery. My question to the minister 👇

Just delivered Compassionate Conversation training to our clinical team, in the context of delivering positive Hepatitis or HIV diagnoses. Training always fills my cup, and it's lovely to connect with colleagues I don't often see, such insightful reflections and keen engagement.

Some interesting ideas in this thread & the paper about how we might reduce stigma around substance use, which should help keep people safer. As with so many interventions (notably on prevention) being well-intentioned isn't good enough; there can often be unintended consequences
