SCOOP: AIPAC leadership supports Karen Bass for Mayor of Los Angeles
Two major fundraisers for Bass’s 2026 reelection campaign have been Richard Ziman and his ex-wife Daphna Ziman. Richard Ziman, a former AIPAC board member, gave $10,000 to a pro-Bass PAC in the primary and maxed out to her campaign. His ex-wife Daphna Ziman, a vocal pro-Israel advocate, maxed out in the general and hosted a fundraiser for Bass on August 30th.
Current AIPAC leaders are giving too. Howard Welinsky, AIPAC board member, donated $3,500. Norman Brownstein, AIPAC's Vice President, donated $1,800. Chris McCannell, Political VP of AIPAC's DC group, donated $500.
Additionally, AIPAC leaders are fueling Maccabee PAC which is opposing Nithya Raman. The PAC has raised $45,300 with 85% of it ($38,500) coming from donors with documented ties to AIPAC or its network, including a former AIPAC Western Region Chair and an AIPAC National Council member.

So at this point in 2018, Dems were losing early voting by 3 in Florida. They ended up losing the Senate race by .1%.

This type of fearmongering about Israel is wrong. It is not a winning strategy for any state. It does nothing to help Michigan Democrats win up and down the ballot in eight days. Do we need to lower costs by building more homes, securing people’s health care, and creating a fairer federal tax code? Yes, we do!! How we do so is not by blaming the high costs of our goods on the only Jewish homeland in the world. I want to see Democrats succeed at every level, and that means keeping our focus on lowering costs for Michigan families and reining in this out-of-control President.
