That era just ended. ⸻ 🔑 What Changed •No More Duty-Free Loophole – The U.S. shut down the “de minimis” exemption that let sub-$800 imports slip through without duties. Now, every parcel is subject to customs and handling. •Customs & Handling Costs Crush Imports – Those “cheap” $10 or $20 goods? Add in $80+ in handling and tariff fees. Game over for the foreign seller who built their model on free-riding. •Platform Rules Favor Domestic – eBay’s October seller update, Etsy’s stricter handmade enforcement, and Amazon’s growing pressure on overseas FBA resellers all point to one thing: the platforms are tightening the screws. ⸻ ✅ Why This Levels the Field U.S. sellers don’t face those customs walls.
