The decline of #LCFC has been as astonishing as the rise over the past 15 years.
There is one burning question fans want answering - how has this been allowed to happen?
For @TheAthleticFC

Ten years ago they were in Copenhagen for the Champions League.
On Tuesday it was Bromley away in League One.
They still travel in large numbers.
How do travelling fans feel about #LCFC’s decline?

With the FA committed to more diversity within its men's coaching ranks, being part of an England age-group staff with three Black coaches comes with some pressure.
But for England under-18s assistant Chris Lock, that pales in comparison to running into a burning building.
He tells @RobTannerLCFC his story for UK Black History Month.

After running into burning buildings and making life-changing decisions, the pressures of being an international football coach don't seem quite as acute for @England U18 and @CharltonAcademy coach Chris Lock.

Erik ten Hag knows what it is like to be in the eye of the storm at Manchester United.
@LaurieWhitwell spent two evenings with the Dutchman in his hometown of Enschede, in the east of the Netherlands, to peel back the curtain on his two-and-a-half years at Old Trafford.
In part one, Ten Hag talks about:
▪️ The broken “promises” that led to his sacking
▪️ Why he had to act on Cristiano Ronaldo, a player who “let the team down”
▪️ His desire to sign Harry Kane and Declan Rice
▪️ The “toxic culture” and the "Madrid connection" that brought player power to the club

It is so sad to see what is happening at King Power Stadium.
I hoped #LCFC had hit rock bottom and that the recovery could begin after so many player changes, but the difficult times continue and the suffering for City fans goes on.
Just one point above the L1 relegation zone

In November 2024, Tottenham Hotspur unveiled a “remastered brand identity” which explained that they did not wish for the club to be referred to as Tottenham.
Three months later the Premier League emailed broadcasters informing them of this request.
Tottenham Hotspur, fine. Spurs, fine. Tottenham, no.
This season, Tottenham are happy to be called Tottenham again.

The @TheAthleticFC set me a challenge... to become a world champion at something.
Short of actual athletic talent, I thought what else can I do?
So I entered the World Gurning Championships.
Did I win?

Manchester United have conducted internal assessments of the extent of the economic losses the club has incurred which could be attributed to Manchester City’s breaches of Premier League financial regulations.
The Athletic reported earlier on Friday that an independent disciplinary panel had found City guilty of all but one of 115 charges relating to breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules, according to sources briefed on the matter who spoke anonymously as they were not authorised to do so publicly.

🚨 Premier League clubs planning legal action following guilty verdict against Manchester City relating to financial rule breaches. Lawyers instructed & work under way for some time before #ManCity outcome; would be after any appeals process @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/7630331…

The potential punishments are outlined in rule W.51 of the Premier League’s handbook, with a range of potential options for the panel to consider if City are found to have broken the rules.
Sanctions range from a reprimand and fines to points deductions — and even expulsion from the Premier League.
Any points deduction could be applied when the decision is made or retrospectively, raising the prospect of City being stripped of titles.

I have watched football in many countries but I haven’t seen a game quite like this before.

A new report on the finances of the Championship has painted a bleak picture of a division hooked on unsustainable spending but dominated by clubs that receive Premier League parachute payments.
Commissioned by corporate restructuring firm Leonard Curtis, the Football Finance Report has been co-authored by Professor Rob Wilson, the provost of the University Campus of Football Business (UFCB), and Dr Dan Plumley, a senior lecturer in sports finance at Loughborough University.
