On October 7th, 1955, one of the greatest singers of the century, Ella Fitzgerald, was arrested in Houston and charged with shooting dice. Also charged were Dizzy Gillespie, Illinois Jacquet, jazz impresario Norman Granz and Georgiana Henry, Ella's assistant. This photo shows a distraught Ella (left) and Georgiana (both dressed in stoles, naturally) in a Houston police station after their arrest. You can read about it here: tinyurl.com/4a9m4fct

So Christopher Steele's main source for the dossier? He was the subject of a nearly two-year long FBI counter-intel investigation (2009-2011), under suspicion of being a Russian spy and a "threat to national security."
