Not long ago, some owners wanted out of the WNBA. They saw it as a money pit. Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob wanted in. Now, the GS Valkyries have generated more revenue than the Indiana Fever and are playing for a title. wsj.com/sports/basketball/go…

The NBA Owner Who Struck Gold in the WNBA

In just their second year, the Golden State Valkyries are a rare expansion success story. Now they’re on the brink of a championship.

When I was 17, my high school, St. Augustine, played in Baton Rouge. Dale Brown was there to recruit our star forward, Donald Royal. I asked him for an interview for our school paper. He was very gracious and answered all of my questions. It was the first big interview I ever had published. I will always remember Coach Brown’s kindness to a kid reporter. RIP 🙏🏾

Interest in @LSUBasketball was never higher, than when Dale Brown has the #LSU head coach. 66,000 paid for a regular season game in the Superdome vs Georgetown. Superstar players, two Final Fours, two Elite 8’s, 10 straight NCAA trips over one stretch. Nationally known, charismatic figure with enormous personality. True legend on the court and off.

Doesn’t look like we’ll see Anna Minaeva for LSU’s first exhibition tonight. She’s on the sideline while the rest of the team warms up. That means LSU will have nine active players tonight. No Noa Morro (shin) until late November
