Hey @costcocanada - this is what you’re FORCING on your customers. Yeah, yeah. Your average but ignorant-of-the-facts Canadian buh-lieves that “halal” just means “clean” according to the nonsense they’ve been told. No. It just means barbarity to an animal that deserves a humane, stun death that aligns to 21st century Canadian values, not 7th century religious slaughter practices. I am Christian. There is NOTHING “inclusive” about forcing your Christian customers to buy meat slaughtered as a Muslim prays and slices the animal’s throat, forcing the poor creature to die a slow and terrifying death! But Costco thinks it’s just fine. Canadians who care: retweet. My friends didn’t know what halal meant until I spelled it out for them. In my town that is less than 5% Muslim, Costco expects ALL of us to bow to Allah’s wishes about how an animal should die. NOT OK.
