Cenk Uygur is probably breathing a huge sigh of relief knowing that if (god forbid) AES loses on Tuesday nobody will blame him for airing that stupid ad which caused all the controversy in the first place because they'll all be pointing fingers at Stevens. But her irresponsibility doesn't mean he should skirt blame either. If Stevens wants to become a Republican after this, I hope Cenk joins her. After all, he used to be one.

Today, October 30th, my dad has been killed in action.
My kind, calm father.
I write it here because I know my dad has many friends in the NAFO community, people who he could rely on for help.
His memory will perdure on this account.
Forever loved and missed.

It appears the Russian Storm-1516 narrative laundering campaign has finally come for the U.S. midterms.
Yesterday they placed a false story on X saying James Talarico sexually assaulted one of his students in 2012.
This follows the Russian playbook. Let me show you how.

yes, Peter. i am in Ukraine right now, delivering humanitarian aid. and i just got out of a bomb shelter after another air raid alert.
back to the topic: you keep saying "peace". please spell out the terms and tell me what happens to Ukrainians living under occupation.
.@whataddoing. But I am not advocating war for others, so the criticism's not valid. Hoping to embroil others in fire and death, from 1,000 miles away, is different from trying to bring peace. Have you ever seen war?

Not only did Israel murder these humanitarian workers, it slandered them in death.
And Dave Cameron is a prick.

Today, they hanged him. The Islamic Republic executed Ali-Sina Mostafavi, an Iranian mountaineer.
Let’s be brutally honest. The Islamic Republic will not stop hanging people because we tweet, share hashtags, or beg for mercy.
We Iranians wake up every day knowing that another family may receive a phone call announcing that their loved one has been executed.
How many more bodies must hang before world leaders understand that condemnation without consequences is not a policy?
The United Nations has documented serious human rights violations, forced confessions, and grossly unfair trials in Iran. This is not a lack of information. It is a lack of political will.
Stop treating executions as a routine human rights concern. Treat them as an international emergency.
We, the people of Iran, are exhausted from burying our loved ones while the world issues statements.
We are not asking you to save us with your sympathy. We are demanding that you stop granting impunity to those who kill us.

During our most recent trip to Syria, we visited Yarmouk camp, a former Palestinian refugee site south of Damascus that experienced immense destruction during the revolution. Today, we are empowered to bring the perpetrators of that violence to justice, and to witness Yarmouk’s rebuilding towards a brighter future. @SoccerMouaz

This is the level of @BorisJohnson’s duplicity. Having blamed Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in 2016 on the EU, working with active Surkov lieutenant Alexander Lebedev, he then plots with Nigel Farage and Steve Bannon in the toppling of Theresa May

How did Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson react to early revelations of Putin’s great information war? All the evidence suggests that he engaged in a systematic cover-up.

On the day after @peterjukes & I broke the story of Arron Banks’s covert meetings with the Russian ambassador, I was invited onto @BBCr4today to discuss it. Big news! Finally the chance to break through to a BBC audience. Only the interview was cancelled because they needed ‘someone from the other side’ & the Russian ambassador wasn’t available. Facts don’t have a side. It meant the BBC never covered the story. And here we are..

2026: Labour MP Jonathan Hinder says 'nobody thinks that was going to happen,' that Brexit would mean, instead of migrants from the EU, we'd get migrants from outside the EU
2016: Labour's Heidi Alexander explained that ending freedom of movement means we'll need to get immigrants from outside the EU to pay taxes to fund pensions
My view: In 2016, MPs, politicians and commentators repeatedly warned that ending freedom of movement would not end the UK’s need for migrants. Heidi Alexander, for example, explained that Britain would need people from outside the EU to work, pay taxes and help fund pensions.
That was the basic reality the Brexit campaign glossed over: changing the rules for EU migration would not make the demand for workers disappear. It could mean employers, public services and the wider economy relying more heavily on migration from outside the EU instead.
So Jonathan Hinder’s apparent shock that this might happen is astonishing. It is also revealing. The consequences were being discussed openly in 2016; the question was never simply whether Britain would have migration, but where it would come from and how the country would manage it.

🇫🇷 Congratulations to @rglucks1 of @placepublique_ on his victory in France’s centre-left primary!
A victory for progressive values, democracy and a fairer France.
We also value the commitment of @faureolivier and our comrades from the @partisocialiste to building a strong, united progressive movement.
As France looks to the future, we need politics that brings people together, stands up to the far right and puts social justice, solidarity and hope at the heart of our societies.
The fight for a better future starts here. This is just the beginning.
Félicitations, Raphaël!

A well known racist bully in Dublin is getting undeserved praise online after he filmed himself profiling young Afghan migrants on a train.
He saw the boys sitting beside a girl and, based purely on his own bigoted assumptions, decided they must be a threat.
He took advantage of their innocence, confronted them, recorded the incident and later posting an edited version that did not show the full context of what actually happened.
We have since learned that the man did not know the girl, and more importantly, the girl herself did not ask for his help neither did she feel intimidated or threatened by the boys.
The question here is : if those boys had been white Irish, would he have looked at the exact same situation and automatically assumed they were dangerous?
The idea of the Far right is, a non-white man sitting on a public park is deemed dangerous to kids or a non-white man sitting next to a girl on public is deemed dangerous.
Racism works through assumptions and Judging someone as a threat before they have done anything at all.
We urge POCs and migrants to record whenever a bigot tries to exploit you in public.
