The King and Queen, together with members of The Royal Family, have hosted a reception in honour of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.
Amongst guests were representatives of The late Queen’s former charities and patronages, as well as some very special centenarians, who are celebrating their 100th birthday today.

Ahead of tomorrow’s Royal Maundy service at St Asaph Cathedral, take a look back at the centuries‑old tradition.
Dating back to 600AD, every year on the Thursday before Easter, The Sovereign presents Maundy Money to people who’ve made an outstanding contribution to their communities.
Early in her reign, Queen Elizabeth II chose to take the Maundy Service around the UK, visiting a different cathedral or abbey each year in recognition of local communities across the country.

👏 A huge thank you to our Military personnel for a truly triumphant Trooping today!
Over 1,000 soldiers, around 200 horses and approximately 300 musicians came together in a display of Military precision, horsemanship and fanfare to mark The King’s official birthday.

I attended the Chief Constable’s Long Service and Commendations Ceremony, representing the judges and presenting their commendations.
It was inspiring to see the dedication and loyalty of the police officers, many giving hours of extra time to gather evidence that led to successful convictions.
Proud families were there to hear the individual stories behind each award. I took my two cadets with me as it is important they see and learn from occasions like this.
I also presented the Royal Humane Society Awards which recognised remarkable acts of lifesaving.
All overseen by our Chief Constable, Nick Dean who has given great service to Cambridgeshire.
