The greatest insult my late father had was to call a man a railway clerk.
In the 1970s everyone knew the type. Talentless and charmless, the only pleasure in his life was to exercise power. This power consisted in printing your ticket sufficiently slowly that he ensured that you would miss your train.
There are no railway clerks now. They have all become senior civil servants and ministers of state.

If I got on that ferry id be more worried about the car getting smashed up than feeling sea sick. But I reckon that ferry docked and stayed in Dock until the weather calmed down.

In a world roiled by turmoil, cynicism and strife, a much-needed moment of peace, love, and harmony.
