“It’s not illegal to make a living in America," Laura Loomer told The Washington Post.
Exclusive w/ @drewharwell:
Laura Loomer has been paid by private clients to make political posts on social media without publicly disclosing the payments, according to a former Trump campaign aide and three others familiar with the arrangements.

So I just found out apparently no one outside of Michigan knew how adorkable Abdul's grandparents are, even though I don't know anyone in Michigan who didn't.
National press y'all kinda failed the country there eh?

while the Free Press pretends to be a real news outlet on this platform by posting a "correction" for lying...
the same video on their Facebook, where it received 10 million views and hundreds of thousands of likes and shares has no "correction" whatsoever
Replying to @TheFP
CORRECTION: This post and opinion video states that Abdul El-Sayed gave his acceptance speech in Arabic. That’s not accurate. In fact, he said a few phrases in Arabic, but the majority of his speech was in English. The Free Press regrets the error.

“The new claims about Loomer’s influence business could add fuel to a growing debate about the little-regulated industry of political messaging on social media…”
New: Laura Loomer has been paid for her tweets, says a former Trump campaign aide and others who said they paid her on clients' behalf. Loomer disputed the claims in an interview before announcing her hiatus: "It’s not illegal to make a living in America" washingtonpost.com/business/…

“Giles says at least ten residents are in serious danger of becoming homeless.”
“The buyout went up to $50,000 after protest, but with a catch. “These individuals have to move or leave their trailers behind before they can even qualify to get that money,” Giles said.”
Residents of a trailer home neighborhood in NKY have 90 days to leave after the land was sold to tech giant Meta for a data center complex.

The most shocking thing about @SulkinMaya's blatant fabrication isn't anything to do with her personally.
It's that her video somehow made it through the editorial process at @TheFP and *nobody* noticed the error.
This is not a small error! She said that a speech was in Arabic when (excepting four words) that speech was entirely in English! What are you doing here???
I mean this as a very serious question for @EliLake, @bariweiss, and several of the other FP people who follow me: Does The Free Press have an editorial process? Like, at all? If so, can you describe it to me? Who was in charge of making sure Maya's claims were factually accurate? How could this possibly have slipped by? I do not understand how an organization with your level of money and scale could just whiff like that.
For those of you not deep in journalism world, this is not normal. At @TheArgumentMag, a publication with far less publicity, fewer employees and fewer paid subscribers, I have copy editors up my ass if I misstate a statistic by one percent or don't have a foolproof quote to back up every single claim I make in an article. I have been asked to provide documentation for claims like "Hasan is a Maoist dope" because my editors would not accept a throwaway joke without proof that Hasan might actually be a Maoist.
It's not my job to decide who the FP should employ, but I will note that at most publications this would get you fired and probably also get one or more editors fired.

This guy seems to think a reporter's job is to help lawmakers keep their secret meetings secret.
The slimiest member of the DC press corps who conspires with low integrity attention seekers to leak strategies being discussed in House Republican meetings is Jake Sherman. To be clear- If you want my vote for leadership you will commit to no on or off record interviews with Jake Sherman for as long as he leaks our confidential team meetings. If being in “punchbowl” is more important than keeping the confidentiality of your colleagues not only are you unfit for Leadership, you shouldn’t call yourself a patriot.
Do not call me and ask for my vote unless you are willing to make that commitment.
Our Republican Conference was crushed on Tuesday and we enter one of the most perilous times in our nations history. I can only speak for myself, but I will not be tolerating games and BS. 🇺🇸

Asked why he devoted so much time to Michigan, Jim Clyburn compared the hostility Abdul El-Sayed faced to the struggles of civil rights icon John Lewis, citing Lewis’ beating on the Edmund Pettus Bridge and El-Sayed becoming the first Muslim elected to the Senate.
“They’re going after a brown Muslim today,” he recalled telling one group. “They’re gonna be coming after a Black Muslim tomorrow.”

Musk’s $$$ door-knocking operation paid “some canvassing firms about $4.50 a door, a relatively low amount…Those firms in turn paid most canvassers roughly $2 or $2.50 per door”

My campaign and others complained about this for months. This should’ve been a national story. Thank God @MSTODAYnews reported it and we and others were able to try to reach these voters.
Local journalism matters!
Voter inactivations surged ahead of Tuesday’s midterm elections, the first since the MS Secretary of State’s Office authorized unverified data from the credit bureau Experian for counties to use statewide when cleaning their voter rolls.

NYPD officers are issuing criminal tickets for low-level offenses like loitering, panhandling and littering in the South Bronx and in East New York, Brooklyn at higher rates than anywhere else in the city, according to a new data analysis.
In 2025 and the first half of this year, more than 60% of the criminal summonses the NYPD issued for loitering were written by officers in just one of the city’s 78 police precincts — the 40th, in the South Bronx — according to an analysis published earlier this week by the Data Collaborative for Justice at John Jay College.

Abdul El-Sayed appointing a Biden/Harris official to head his transition is a sign he's already pivoting towards the center and establishment. Some anti-war and pro-Palestinian advocates are expressing concern about this appointment, noting that Brenda Abdelall was not well received in areas like Dearborn in 2024. But the appointment is being praised today by other Arab-Americans such as Hady Amr, a former Biden official who handled Palestinian affairs during the Gaza war and was criticized by Gaza activists.
Brenda Abdelall has been named head of Abdul El-Sayed’s transition team, per Politico. The former University of Michigan student of Egyptian descent was deputy director of Arab-American outreach for Kamala Harris in 2024 presidential campaign, a difficult job given the backlash against Biden/Harris that year over Gaza, Lebanon. Brenda was on cover of Newsweek 2 months after 9/11:
