Our next chapter is here! ✨
I'm delighted to share that we are funding 8 community-led projects across Kenya and Uganda, each driving solutions that protect water, health, food and nature 💧🌍
First up is @WetlandOrg's Project WEZESHA, which launched yesterday. Young leaders are stepping up as wetland champions, using nature-based solutions and storytelling to bring the Michuki Wetland back to life and spark a movement for climate action.
WEZESHA means ‘empower’ in Swahili, and that’s exactly what this initiative does.
I can’t wait to introduce you all to the rest of these incredible projects. If you’d like to be part of the journey, you can help too - donations are open through impact.runblue.org ⬅️

Happy #EarthDay everyone! 🌍💙💧 In light of soaring global warming and intense climate events, we are reminded of the need to protect this beautiful place we call home and do all we can to ensure we play our part for future generations.
The theme for this year's Earth Day is “Planet vs Plastics”. Did you know that 70-80% of the plastic in our oceans is transported there via our rivers? But in truth, it doesn’t come from rivers it comes from us, which means change can come from us too. For rivers and for water!
I am deeply committed to seeing the end of plastics for the sake of human and planetary health, as well as demanding a 60% reduction in the production of ALL plastics by 2040 in alignment with @earthday.org.
