🏃‍♀️ RUN ANNOUNCEMENT 🏃‍♀️ Next week, I’ll begin the longest and most challenging river run of my life. A daunting 2,000 miles along the Colorado River from its source in the Rocky Mountains to the desert where it runs dry. In just 100 days. In summer! The Colorado supports 40 million people and drives $1.4 trillion of economic activity. Yet after decades of drought, overuse and rising demand, it has reached breaking point. Over the coming months, we’ll meet the people who depend on it, share the solutions already making a difference and drive collective action to build a more resilient future for the river and the communities it sustains. Because to keep America running, we need to keep the river running. And to keep the river running, we need to work together. Learn more ➡️ keeptheriverrunning.com #KeepTheRiverRunning

It’s been over a month since I finished my 2,000 mile run down the Colorado River (!!!), but that doesn’t mean I’ve slowed down 😅 From the pavement of central park, to the stage at the Young Global Leaders Summit in Dubai, right through to leading water conversations at WEFTEC in New Orleans, every step of this journey is about putting water at the heart of the global agenda. The scale of the water challenge is massive, but together, we have the power to solve it. I’m immensly grateful for this unstoppable community standing together to save our planet’s most precious resource 💙 #younggloballeaders #WEFTEC #Changemakers

Running through Southern Nevada, I kept thinking about what it takes to build a city in one of the driest places in America. Colby Pellegrino and the @SNWA_H2O showed me how much of that comes down to choices. What gets planted, how buildings are designed, where water is reused and how growth is planned around the resources that are actually there. That’s the kind of ambition the Colorado River needs. Not pretending there are unlimited resources, but getting much smarter about how we use the ones we have. #KeepTheRiverRunning @WaltonFamilyFdn

Did a 110 KM for Mula Mutha River & Save BHS. It doesn't matter who ran or walked higher than others on the leaderboard. Let the river keep flowing, when it does, everyone is a winner. #runblueofficial @minaguli @Thirst4Water @Grundfos @ChaloPmc @pulse_pune @PMCPune

2,000 miles along the Colorado, then all of you picked up the baton 💙 Seeing thousands of people around the world move for our rivers has been the most incredible way to end this journey. A massive thankyou to every single person who ran, walked and moved with us, and helped show the world how many of us are ready to stand up for the waterways that give us life. Wishing you all a very happy #WorldRiversDay! Thankyou for making this #WorldRiverRun one I’ll never forget 🌍💧🏃‍♀️ #KeepTheRiverRunning

I never would have reached this finish line alone. There are so many people who helped make this journey possible, and I’m incredibly grateful to team @grundfos for being part of it from the very beginning. Their support went far beyond sponsorship. Across the run, our summits and events along the way, people from across Grundfos gave their time, energy and expertise to help bring people together around the future of the Colorado River. That was always the bigger purpose of what we set out to do. Running 2,000 miles has helped draw attention to what is happening to this river and to the solutions already out there. Now we have to turn that attention into action by strengthening collaboration across sectors, building the investment needed to scale what works and turning shared ambition into lasting impact. So while my run may be finished, this journey certainly isn't. This weekend, I’ll join Grundfos at #WEFTEC2026 in New Orleans as we carry that momentum forward and focus on the partnerships, investment and collective action needed to build a more resilient water future. #KeepTheRiverRunning

One of the things I kept coming back to during my run was how the demands on the Colorado River keep growing - as its flows and reservoir levels continue to fall. It still has to support farms, communities, wildlife, recreation, businesses and ever growing cities. And when there isn’t enough water left in it, the consequences ripple through all of them. Talking with Kate Ryan from the Colorado Water Trust and angler Stephanie Ridge made those consequences feel very real, while also showing me how people are working to keep more water in the river where it’s needed most. #KeepTheRiverRunning

My body still doesn’t seem to understand that we’ve stopped running 😅 After nearly three months and 2,000 miles, I’m still trying to get my head around the fact that we actually did it. The running shoes are off, our gear is packed away, and everything feels strangely normal considering how completely mad the last few months have been. For now, I’m swapping trails and desert roads for meetings, stages and a very different kind of wilderness at New York Climate Week. The run may be over, but this is the part where we start turning everything we saw, learned and heard along the Colorado into action. #KeepTheRiverRunning #ClimateWeekNYC

Over the last three months, I’ve run the length of the Colorado River meeting people whose lives, work and futures depend on its water. Grant and Calista Chaffin were two of the people who fundamentally changed what I thought was possible for the river. Their farm is a brilliant example of how technology, investment and collaboration can help farmers use water differently while enabling communities and farms to thrive for generations to come. Seeing what can happen when new ideas are backed by the right investment and partnerships gives me hope for the future of the Colorado. #KeepTheRiverRunning @WaltonFamilyFdn

It sounded crazy. Run 2,000 miles along the Colorado River. In the hottest US summer on record. But it was never about the miles or the heat. It was always about the river, and the millions of people who depend on it. For jobs, for industry, for life. Along the way I met the farmers who grow the food we eat, and the people running the data centers that power the tech we use. We all depend on this river. This river needs big goals. Not only small steps, but a clear target we can all run toward. The solutions already exist. Farmers growing more with less. Cities reusing every drop they can. So let's back what works, for the river and for the economy, and scale it. The finish line isn't the end. It's where the real work starts. #KeepTheRiverRunning

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝘀𝗼𝗻? | 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀 Today, Charley is in downtown Los Angeles with SCWC founding member Metropolitan Water District for the finish of an incredible journey along the Colorado River. Water advocate and ultrarunner Mina Guli has spent the last 100 days running roughly 2,000 miles along the Colorado River, using every mile to bring attention to the river, the communities that depend on it and the need to work together to secure its future. Charley had the opportunity to join today’s conversation about what Mina’s journey has taught us: bringing people together around water can accomplish far more than working against one another. That’s a message that hits home for SCWC. California’s water challenges are complex, but progress starts when we get people in the same room, find common ground and work toward solutions together. Congratulations to Mina on an incredible journey, and thanks to MWD for bringing people together for an important conversation about the future of the Colorado River. #WhereInTheWorldIsCharleyWilson #KeepTheRiverRunning #CaliforniaWater #ColoradoRiver #CAWater

WE DID IT!!! 🥹🤯 90 days ago, I stood beside a tiny trickle at the source of the Colorado River in the Rockies. Today, 2,000 miles later, I crossed the finish line in Los Angeles. There were so many moments when this felt completely ridiculous. Days I was exhausted, scared, lonely, running on almost no sleep and wondering how on earth I was going to do it all again the next morning. But one step became a mile, until one mile became 2,000. We can do hard things. Really hard things. Everyone has their own version of 2,000 miles and while big goals can be confronting, scary and overwhelming, progress happens step by step. And when we work together, even the hardest things become possible. Thankyou to my incredible team, to everyone who shared their stories and knowledge with me along the way, to the strangers who met me with such kindness and generosity, and to every person who encouraged me through the hardest days. None of this would have been possible without you. I hope you’ll join us for the next chapter of this extraordinary journey as we turn the awareness and momentum we’ve built into action for the Colorado River and the 40+ million people who depend on it. For now, I'll be celebrating with a looong sleep! 😴🤗💙 #KeepTheRiverRunning
