Seeing a lot of pictures of low attendance across CFB today. 1. The cost of living is high. These ticket prices are outrageous. 2. For years college football fans have been loud about not liking the direction the sport is headed. Yet the people in charge have doubled down and ripped away a lot of what made CFB unique and different. Example: 24 team playoff is extremely unpopular amongst CFB fans yet they did it anyway. Ignoring the customers is never a good long term business model.

The powers that be are turning college football into something you watch on your couch with social media and a gambling app open, instead of it being a communal celebration. And that is not sustainable for people caring about it long-term.
Announced attendance for Penn State-Purdue (tickets sold, teams, stadium staff, etc.): 102,041

We all know about how spoiled LSU gets with night games, but I think the most surprising part of this to me was the Georgia number. How is the best team in the SEC getting 22% night games.. Georgia is on the same level as Arkansas and Mississippi State in this stat. That’s a problem.
Since the SEC’s new TV deal began in 2024, LSU has played 16 of its 19 home games at night (84%). Georgia and Mississippi State? Just 4 of 18 (22%). It gets even worse when you look strictly at SEC conference games. LSU has hosted EIGHT at night. More than Ole Miss and Georgia COMBINED. Mississippi State has hosted ONE. Night games matter for recruiting, atmosphere, attendance and home-field advantage. How does the SEC justify this kind of disparity? And how is it fair to the fans spending thousands on season tickets?

Freddie Freeman and William Contreras now account for two of the past three World Series MVPs. Who do you have for next year? Max Fried? Dansby Swanson?
MVP, MVP, MVP 🗣️ William Contreras went off in the World Series: .381 AVG (8-for-21), 4 RBI

I wanted nothing more than for Auburn to come out today & show that last week wasn't a fluke. But man, the Dawgs really beat the Dawgs. Oof...

I keep hearing "Georgia beat Georgia." No. Auburn ran the ball. Auburn stopped the run. Auburn won the battle in the trenches. Yes, Georgia had costly turnovers. But Auburn dropped a sure-fire TD in the first quarter and lost the penalty battle 11-4.

Since the start of CFP expansion talks there has been a significant sized group of coaches who openly lobbied for CFP expansion as a way to create a looser definition of success. I watched Mark Richt get fired after a 9-3 season. I bet wee see an interim coach a CFP game soon.

One thing folks aren’t talking about enough with the 24-team playoff is the amount of rematch opportunities. We are already seeing this in the 12-team & 24-team makes it worse. In the hypothetical field below, Alabama could end up with 4 CFP games vs teams they’ve already played in 2026. Georgia & Ohio State could have 3 CFP games that are regular season rematches. An occasional postseason rematch can be iconic… but having the potential for 8-10 of the 23 CFP games be regular season rematches seems very short-sighted.

This will be Kirby Smart's 36th game coaching at UGA as the AP #1 team.. That puts him 4th behind Nick Saban, Bobby Bowden and Woody Hayes all time.. Not bad company to be in @ugasportscom

No. It’s a facemask. And it wasn’t called like this one. Willing to trade 2017 NC for last Saturday. Lmk.
Blatant face mask that the refs were blind to as well. But I’m guessing UGA fans will claim the ground caused his helmet to come off…

5 things Georgia and Bama fans can agree on: 1. Those refs sucked 🤝 2. Keelon Russell rocks 🤝 3. Chris Cole is a matchup nightmare 🤝 4. Ryan Grubb abandons the run game too often 🤝 5. Kirby Smart has cloned Saban’s consistency better than any other former assistant 🤝

What an incredible day. Loving that some want to make the narrative after #UGA beat #Alabama in Tuscaloosa is because of the refs… #Dawgs fans feel your…pain? 😂 @PuntandPass 🎧🏈

I’m not an archaeologist, but maybe Stockton going 18/22 for 249 without his top two X-WR’s while UGA held Keelon to 16/30 for 185 won it? Maybe UGA’s #3 and #4 RB’s going for 7 YPC won it? Perhaps UGA won because they had 7.5 yards a play and held Alabama to 5.8? Just a guess
I’d argue the missed pass interference call actually won it for Georgia.
