And occasionally, trees climbing ☺️
It doesn't work like that, the price is not the only or even most important decision factor. It's all about what is the company getting in return, if it makes it $600 easier for the company to make money (not at all) or $6000 (much easier) or $60k easier (basically shut up and take my money territory).
Here is watchgoose.com in numbers from October 2026.
I've got 47 new accounts, and AI is still the biggest recorded source for new accounts: 17 accounts, 36%. The other self-reported sources were (percentages rounded):
- Hacker News: 1 account, 2%
- Colleague or friend: 1 account, 2%
- Search engines: 1 account, 2%
- Other: 1 account, 2%
- Not recorded: 26 accounts, 55%
Signup methods were:
- GitHub: 34 accounts, 72%
- Email: 13 accounts, 28%
GitHub went from 65% to 72% of signups, so the September experiment keeps paying off (Google signup is still on my to-do list).
New this month: 36 of the 47 new accounts (77%) connected an AI assistant to Watchgoose through our MCP server. ChatGPT is far ahead, with 42 connections against 10 for Claude.
Website traffic was 377 visitors and most visited pages were:
- Homepage: 288
- Open Source: 46
- Pricing: 41
- Signup: 29
- MCP docs: 14
The Open Source page was again the entry page for 39 visitors, exactly as many as in September, even though overall traffic fell. Roughly 1 in 10 visitors now lands there first, so it's still my second-best landing page after the homepage. X is still the top referrer by far (91 visitors), with Google second (15).
Watchgoose cron jobs, backups and other scheduled workloads traffic were as follows:
- Total pings: 26,541 (more than 2x September!)
- Success pings: 25,977
- Start signals: 543
- Explicit failure signals: 18
Watchgoose sent 109 alerts: email 47, Pushover 29, webhooks 18, ntfy 8, Slack 5 and Telegram 2.
And the number I like most: 86% of recorded "down" states came from missing expected pings (107 of 124), up from 69% in September. That's the failure Watchgoose exists to catch, the jobs that silently didn't run.
I hope you find it interesting and if you do, there will be more reports like this coming from the SEO/ads/traffic experiments I'm running (and more monthly reports like this). Let me know if you'd like to hear about some other stats and data.
Oh, don't even get me started 😅 For coffee snobs (like me) buying freshly roasted beans is the way to go. But so is finding actual bean that will match your taste (I'm buying a lots of 100-250g "demo sets" to do that) and then brewing it the way you like (after years of experiments I've settled on the 4:6 Japanese method).
It's a bottomless pit of a hobby, but then again which hobby isn't that? 🤣
Been grinding my own fresh coffee beans lately and it’s a total game-changer.
The difference is a big upgrade. Way fresher aroma, richer flavour, and none of that flat, stale taste you get from pre-ground.
It’s a little extra effort, but when your coffee tastes this good, it’s absolutely worth it ☕️🙌🏼
Holy cow! C64 just got itself a Smash Bros like game in Awesome SlamSibs release.
It is dynamic, smooth, great fun and looks amazing, I've had more fun playing it than I've had with any other game in a very long time. It is hard to believe this was possible to pull off on Commodore 64, absolute marvel!
You can get it for free here: csdb.dk/release/?id=265225
This makes me really proud for being polish. If you've not lived in Poland 20 or even 10 years ago you wouldn't believe the difference and huge leap the county made in that time. I don't believe it and I was born here. 🇵🇱💪
Rubio just now: “I'd also like to take a moment to note the inclusion of Poland as a full participant in this G20. President Trump believes their economic success and growing global influence is exactly what the G20 needs to tackle the major economic challenges we all face, and we're very excited to have them with us here today and this week.”
It's a weekend so you won't see me posting about shipping, let's connect instead! 🤝

Is LinkedIn broken? I used to get a fairly good reach with my posts there, but for two days now I get 0 (literally: zero) views for hours after posting.
Not that I care about @LinkedIn too much, but it would be good to know what's going on 😉
Since it's Friday, I'm trying to avoid posting about Watchgoose, work and what not.
You may have seen that recently I have received my long awaited C64CU from @commodoreofcl.
Since then I've had a chance to spend a weekend and few evenings with it and here's my little review, below.👇
The good:
- it works and it's awesome, brings back the joys of childhood
- HDMI supported, modern power supply
supports USB mouse
- the case is much higher quality than I feared from first pictures
- there are real SID slots available
Not so good:
- the LED version is fun, but the keys are completely unusable in the flashing mode
- clear case shows all internal mould attachment points, all support structures, everything. When the LED mode is off it doesn't really look nice, but this one is on me, I should've though about it
- supplied "casette tape" USB stick is 128MB "large", come on...
The bad:
- only two USB-A ports exposed to the users, even when there are USB-C slots on the motherboard, I had to hunt down USB-A to USB-C cable to be able to transfer files to it, it's 2026 already
- there is SD card slot on the motherboard, but it isn't exposed at all, you need to take the whole thing apart to insert the card there, it could've been placed somewhere on the side of the chassis
Overall, it's a great thing and gives me and my little one a lot of joy, watching demos and playing Bombermania and Ultima V :)
I do care if CEO is a bully. Shame on him and shame on you for caring more about company than about people.
His company is his own to run it into the ground, but his employees aren't.
I love Cloudflare products, but they have a reputation about them as a company that makes me not say words like "budget is not a problem" in public 😉
I urgently need someone at @cloudflare to get us on the enterprise plan in the next few hours, we need higher limits, budget is not a problem, time is!
thanks
That's not a very good way to build a business relationship, is it?
Oh, and who could be described as "a GPU provider", there isn't too many companies on the planet fitting the description? Asking for a friend.
After this tweet, a GPU provider we already wired $3M to called and asked for $5M more upfront. Said it’s now riskier. He tried to renegotiate a signed contract.
Then banks we were in talks with cut their lending offers in half, saying their IC got scared.
One reply moved capital markets against everyone building in this space except the people big enough to be immune to it.

My feed today is full of people panicking over the drop of $GOOG.TO or $INTC or something else.
Okay, I get that the markets are looking red like on this picture, but first, I've seen it much worse, and second, that's normal. Stocks can go up, stocks can go down, and then they can keep going down or go up. Rinse and repeat.
We've been on a bull-ish market for a very, very long time and people behave as if going up was promised to them.
Wants me to comment under every such post: "My sweet summer child, first day on stocks market?" 😉
NOT a financial advice.
