McKelvie was kept on as Deputy Mayor as a way to maintain the peace following Tory's shameful departure from council. McKelvie and Bradford were being lobbied by
PortsToronto and Nieuport Aviation (the airport operator & terminal owner) re the Toronto Island Airport.

It's quite the interesting thing people like Brian Lilley can craft narratives out of absolutely nothing. See also how the Star's non-endorsement of anyone is an endorsement of Bradford

A group of lawyers and civil society members have filed a complaint with the Competition Bureau over Israeli real estate events in Toronto and Montreal, alleging that illegal properties were marketed to Canadians under false pretences. bit.ly/4dZ07rz
Several years ago, when I was a journalism student at Seneca College, I interviewed @PasternakTO during a community event @ a Jewish Community Centre; his Ward.
I remember the looks; I felt so unwelcome.
The interview was exhausting. He didn't smile at me once.
I know why now.
There's a very distinct type of sorrow images like these bring in light of the circumstances the persons pictured seem to have found themselves in.
Breaks my heart.
Lord, guide them.

Mark,
The Toronto Star's editorial board and its many journalists are not the same entity. I'd add that the editorial board is not the same as the paper's current owner.
You know as well as anyone else that the star of today is not the stsr of old.
Nice try though...

The Liberal MP for Toronto-St. Paul's Leslie Church is making robocalls asking folks to support BB for Mayor.
And do not forget the MPP Stephanie Smyth also endorsed Brad Bradford.
When people show you who they are, believe them👀

Replying to @BradMBradford
Brad will cut taxes, clean out the City's reserve funds, kill the City's credit rating, deploy more cops, hand our water infastructure over to Doug Ford's friends and say "job well done" after patting himself on the back.
I think we can do better.

I have my issues with Chow, but expanded library hours, cleaner sidewalks, better snow clearing, + measures against renovictions are concrete wins for Toronto following Tory's austerity.
Vote for change by voting for a man obsessed with power who will say anything to get ahead.
Gotcha, Brian. 👍🏾

Better late than never:
The Toronto Star has finally profiled my favorite for Ward 19, Beaches—East York, @JennieWordenTO!
After years without proper representation, residents are ready for change. A champion for our ward who loves our City and is in it for all of us.

I’ve delivered on building housing, and we’re just getting started.
Thanks to partnership with Prime Minister Carney we have secured $2.7 billion to build housing you can afford.

I know that we can count on Olivia to stand up for people, and their human rights and their dignity and wellbeing. It's so important that everyone gets out to vote on Monday October 26th Olivia. Or we could get stuck with a mayor we do not want and cannot afford. Brad Bradford will say anything to get elected. He flip flops. He cant be counted on. We can't trust him. We know who @oliviachow Chow is. So please make sure you go and vote for Olivia. A Mayor we can trust.

8 years of @BradMBradford & all I got was a rusted balcony guard at 500 Dawes.
I recall the discussions I had with Bradford about 500 Dawes. He had no interest in utilizing the City's remedial action powers & spoke highly of the 20k in fines the City imposed at that time.

What’s Brad Math? Making costly promises without saying how you’ll pay for them.
Gord Perks breaks down Brad’s math ⤵️ Paying for his promises would take at least a 13.5% property tax increase, massive cuts to services, or selling assets (ie privatizing our water). Or all three.
I will be leading a canvas for Olivia Chow in Scarborough Centre tomorrow between 11:00am-12:30pm.
