That, given the recent appointment of Canada’s Ocean Envoy and Chair of the 12th Our Ocean Conference, and the Government of Canada’s recently announced $1.2 billion investment in ocean protection, the committee invite Canada’s Ocean Envoy to appear for no fewer than two hours, at the earliest opportunity, but no later than Friday, November 27, 2026, to discuss the Envoy’s mandate, priorities, and plans to advance Canada’s ocean conservation and fisheries interests, including preparations for the 2027 Our Ocean Conference, the government’s financial commitments, and the anticipated costs associated with hosting the conference; and that the Ocean Envoy be requested to provide the committee with a copy of the formal mandate, any associated terms of reference, and a breakdown of the anticipated costs of hosting the conference prior to the appearance.

According to world population data, 🇨🇦 Canada boasts a population that is over 63% university/college degree educated.
🇮🇳 13-14%—which is a massive amount of people considering their share of population size. One big problem though, the foreign credential recognition wall. Resulting in around 26% of immigrants never working beyond minimum wage/low skilled jobs unless they want to go to school again (which is understandably insane for a 35 year old doctor to do)
Why would you advocate for increased immigration for professionals who you know cannot legally work in the host country you’re pushing for?

But when confronted with engineering scholarships that EXPLICITLY restrict eligibility by race, suddenly she can't apply that definition.

He took $94 billion that every other country would call spending and stamped it “investment.” Not a rounding error. A new dictionary. Then he used that dictionary to tell you the books were cleaner than they are.
The old PBO called it. The IMF side called it. The new PBO just said the definitions are not even applied the same way twice and nobody outside the PMO can reproduce the math. That is not a spreadsheet debate. That is a government that will not let you audit the story it is telling you.
Carney ran on credentials. Credentials are supposed to mean you can read a balance sheet without moving the labels. He moved the labels. Then he asked for trust.
If the numbers only work after you invent a word, the numbers do not work. Canadians are paying the interest. He is paying himself with the vocabulary.

This is yet another glaring example of the incompetence of ministers like @SeanFraserMP and @gary_srp. This wasn't the result of some random traffic stop, this woman was arrested after a months long investigation.
Her actions have caused significant danger to the public and given her history, there is nothing to indicate that she wouldn't continue on while out on bail.
The cops involved in this investigation must be pulling their hair out over this Insanity.
You truly cannot make this up. In a major undercover operation dubbed Project Red Zone, Peel Regional Police seized 23 illegal firearms, more than 950 rounds of ammunition and 824 grams of cocaine. Investigators say the weapons were linked to 14 GTA shootings, including a fatal March 2024 shooting in Mississauga.
Akshaya Srikanthan, 24, faces 18 charges, including 11 counts of firearm trafficking and seven counts of drug trafficking. She appeared in court and was granted bail.
Police spent months working undercover to get illegal guns off the streets. The case now raises an obvious question about Canada’s bail system: with allegations this serious, what does it take for an accused firearms trafficker to be held in custody pending trial?
