That was my main issue with Breaking Bad, too much focus on cooking meth and not enough on local Albuquerque bands.
Yep spot on, meant to be representing the city and it’s all about drugs and crime, nothing about the football or the music etc etc. shite 👍🏼

Hermès, Ralph Lauren and now Prada using real artists in their campaigns and taking the extra measure of mentioning so in the caption is an upstream indicator that the authorities of luxury (read: high craftsmanship) at large decide to not let it be marred or cheapened by AI.
Prada’s new campaign! They hired Legendary ex-Disney artist John Pomery and even used his process sketches in the campaign🥹

Student loans were sold to students as "you'll earn more, so it's only fair you pay some of that back towards your education cost" Unless changed, of the five plans students are on - three of the repayment thresholds will now be *below* the minimum wage.
Britain’s new minimum wage: £27,456 a year. Higher-rate income tax kicks in at £50,270. Wage compression the Soviet Union could only have dreamed of.

York cobblestones. 2006 vs 2026. Well maintained in 2006. Can’t be arsed to maintain properly and just plaster with tarmac patches in 2026. British civic pride decay in a nutshell.

Shut it all down. Forever. And throw this idiot in jail while you're at it, he's actively trying to set the world on fire so he can turn around and sell us a solution.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes the world is entering a cybersecurity crisis and doesn't think he'll be able to prevent ChatGPT from helping cause it. "I no longer think we’re going to be able to just patch all the bugs."

Unpopular opinion: If you’ve intentionally dodged your taxes while the rest of us pay up every month, you shouldn't get a polite warning letter. HMRC dipping straight into accounts is long overdue. Play by the rules or expect consequences. 🤷‍♂️💷

I feel like I'm going insane. If this is true he should go to prison immediately, but for some reason everyone just lets him keep on fucking around?
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman: "I don't even know a dramatic enough word to use… models can find bugs that are outside of the normal threat model of what we think a hacker can do… hardware-level, insane stuff… I no longer think we're gonna be able to just patch all the bugs." It's over.

I really struggle to see the point of the mercury prize if they are just going to shortlist and award commercially successful artists. It used to celebrate boundary-pushing artists and now it’s just for Brit award winners

AOC: "As AI begins to encroach in our society, their goal is to take your cognition away from you. AI's goal is to take your thoughts away from you, your ability to think away from you, so that you become dependent on a machine ... reading books is active resistance"

It’s going to get worse but we are rapidly becoming a society of two types of people, ones who can function normally the way people have for thousands of years, and the other who have intellectually neutered themselves in the delusional belief that it is to become more efficient
So the people that are anti AI, do you like, not use AI at all??? Like not using it for generative art, and paying artists, I understand, but you're behinnnndddd if you refuse to touch it

People saying “good to know he’s got his priorities right” don’t actually understand politics. Funny enough people like it when politicians are seen to be helping a bit. The last PM spent most of his time posing at NATO summits which means squat to your average voter.
