The system that a lot of us autistics grew up were from a neocolonial era especially for some of us who endured it in the 80s and 90s Most definitely I'll most definitely share what it means to be a black autistic woman in an East African country

There is a cultural stigma around autism in Black African families. Many of us masked, struggled in silence, or were misdiagnosed because our families lacked the tools to recognize #neurodivergence . And let’s not even start on the eldest daughter burdens. When we did speak up, we were dismissed or told, “You just need discipline.” Many are only now in adulthood realizing it was #autism all along. I’ll be inviting Black neurodivergent women, psychologists & mothers on my channel to talk.
