Brock Purdy. 7 for 8 on a must have it TD drive against the best defense in the NFL on the road in the loudest stadium in the NFL. MVP frontrunner #FTTB
Welcome home DeForest. 49ers DL will be one of the best in the NFL once Bosa comes back. 49ers know they've got an amazing shot this year with the way Brock is playing.
#FTTB
This is Kyle Shanahan. He doesn't give two craps about giving his QB a top 5 pass blocking OL and prioritizes run blocking over pass blocking.
It appears John Lynch wasn’t all that interested in trading for Quenton Nelson
You build a team that has a lot of talented vets, then sign aging players that still have a lot of talent— Mike Evans, Dre Greenlaw and Deebo Samuel during free agency, but don’t try to add an elite player like Nelson? You’re right there with a great opportunity to win the Super Bowl. Go for it!
What a joke:
"The Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles were among other teams that showed varying levels of interest in Nelson, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler."
Absolutely pathetic @JohnLynch49ers - not only did you not get the LG that the 49ers need to give Brock Purdy his first ever top 10 pass blocking OL unit but you allowed him to get traded to our rival for peanuts. #FTTB
NFC West news: The Colts are trading Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick, per @TomPelissero
Unbelievable…
Top 3 in the MVP race here. Jared Goff has played out of his mind so far but he'll come back down to reality since he's garbage under pressure unless the Lions OL continues to play this well. #FTTB
He looks faster and is way more decisive with the ball. This is the Podz that has flashed and why the Warriors were always so reluctant to trade him #DubNation
This kid looks like the real deal. Asking them for advice on live TV like this? Wow #DubNation
Goosebumps. So grateful for @coach_cristobal coming back home to ensure The U was back on top of college football as a top 10 all time brand. Darian looks better than Cam Ward (who was damn good) and Malachi is the best college football WR that I've ever seen play in my life #GoCanes
Kid could be special. Has gotten my hopes back up for this year. Just need to tread water around .500 until Jimmy comes back for a playoff push #DubNation
One more to go #Ballhalla
Terrible game plan by Raheem especially his halftime adjustment or lack thereof. Should have blitzed way more often once it was clear the DL wasn't going to get any pressures on Penix. #FTTB
Blitz vs. Pressure Rate, Week 7 only (pre-MNF)
MIN generated the most pressure, SF the least.
Data: @FantasyPtsData
Correct. Absolutely zero benefit from making that throw and just a terrible mistake with guaranteed points on deck. This risk taking is actually what makes Brock so great but is something that he must continue to work on (and I know that he will) #FTTB
Kyle Shanahan on Purdy’s sideline INT: “That was 100% on Brock.”
Purdy changed his mind late on a throw and tried to throw it away. Shanahan said he needed to get it farther from Bates, who excels at making those plays. #49ers
This is why data can sometimes be dirty and so you really need to analyze things in the aggregate. Jordan Watkins had two devastating drops and I thought Kittle had one as well. 0 is a joke
Clearly not a good showing for Brock but tough to do much with WRs 1 to 6 out, CMC injured in the first, multiple fumbles and key drops, and the OL around you playing like crap #FTTB
Top 3 is about right for Brock right now for sure and happy that he didn't crater further which would have been ridiculous because even the all time greats like Tom, Joe, and Pat (see Sunday Night Football last night) have horrific games (and not just once or twice).
Brock Purdy has dropped to third in the latest MVP Rankings according to @KalshiSports
Do you agree with this? 🤔
Correct - should have been 17-9 at worst going into halftime. The fumble here and then the horrific offsides was a devastating swing especially considering the Falcons got the ball first.
The 49ers lost the momentum on this play here when they were up 14-9 and ready to score more points. They had scored on 2 of their first 3 possessions leading up to this drive
Here’s how the offensive possessions went from this drive on:
Fumble
Interception
Turnover on downs
Touchdown
Interception
Fumble
They never got the momentum back once Kaelon Black fumbled
Hot garbage and a big reason (maybe the main one) for the loss yesterday. Upton's injury has been terrible for Raheem's defense. #FTTB
I 1000% agree with this post. I have called Brock elite since day one (elite for me is top 10 franchise QB) and he's clearly playing at a tier 1 top 5 level so far this season (his second MVP run in 5 years to start his early career that is just getting started). And the two picks were amazing defensive plays (cannot believe both catches). My original post should have just named Josh Allen (who of course has also lost plenty of games with multiple picks) who I've seen literally single handedly take over games (with a garbage defense behind him etc) more often than Brock to date. That doesn't mean Brock hasn't taken over plenty of games (see Bears game last year, Lions NFCCG game etc).
#FTTB
Replying to @SFSportsAndTech
Both picks were insane plays by the D. 99.9% of the time, that throw away is fine. He did it last sec bc the wr gave up. Could he throw it out further, 100%. Learning moment. The 2nd, he didn't see the LB, who also made an insane play. Bad games happen for all QBs, still elite.
Connor is back to playing like crap creating a major weakness at LG and so Brock Purdy once again has an average at best pass blocking unit. My goodness, how sweet were those first 4 weeks with a top 5 pass blocking OL and one awesome WR target when Brock was literally unstoppable? Get Brock a top 5 pass blocking OL and he'll literally put up video game numbers.
#FTTB
The #49ers Offense allowed 10 pressures against the Falcon’s Defense in week 7.
Trent Williams 1 (SK)
Jake Brendel 1
Colton McKivitz 1
Dominick Puni 1
Connor Colby 5 (SK)
