9/28: the Hon. Paige Gillman held a special eviction court. She addressed eviction cases on hold because of COVID-19. Cases that qualified were redirected to Legal Aid and Florida Rural Legal Services for settlement using CARES Act funds, acquired by the County for this purpose.

A federal judge on July 18 denied Epstein's request to wait out trial from his Manhattan townhouse. His lawyers had appealed the decision, but the move was seen as a long shot given the onerous "clear error" standard and this recent Second Circuit ruling.
