Expected a long day for brief views of the Rufous-tailed Robin. Not to be, it came out onto the path at first light to entertain the crowd for quite a while. Nice chatting with @GeoffreyGoater whilst there and on the way home.

Loads of geese moving flying very high over Barnby Dun, Doncaster.
Friday several large skeins - look and sound like pinkfeet.
Flying lower this morning due to low cloud. Probably 500+ @SYorkshireBirds @RSPB_OldMoor

Spotted Sandpiper giving some really great views at Nostell Priory today. In a muddy pool just down from the car park + wellies could be useful! @DonnyBirding @SYorkshireBirds

Truly bizarre experience twitching a Great Bittern (Botaurus stellaris) feeding on the edge of the woodland whilst visiting Sheffield General Cemetery this morning.
Has anyone seen them hunting in similar habitat?
Left it ‘showing well’ at 1130 hrs. SK34248600

Sometimes birding throws up the occasional bizarre encounter.
Such as watching a Bittern in a wooded cemetery on the edge of Sheffield city centre!
Clearly surviving in the area as it has been seen in local gardens and on rooftops @Sheffbirdstudy @BirdGuides
