We need a full sweep of our politicians in order to put America back together properly.
If it turns out that Ilhan Omar was naturalized based on falsified and also participated in immigration fraud by marrying her own brother, should she be deported?
Also, I'm begging all of you to even try critical thinking.
Her dad applied for her immigration as a child. Even if you think she wasn't a child, it still was immigration he applied for not her.
This was like 1999 before she graduated high school in 2001.
I think this is a witch hunt , but if fraud is proven and the statute hasn't run out, then the appropriate punishment should be applied. I don't know if that is deportation. Base it on previous precedent, not Trump's whims and tantrums.

Most California students still can’t read or do math at grade level, per NYP
Just 49% met state standards in English this year, and only 38% in math.
Among low-income students, nearly 3 in 4 didn’t meet the math standard.
The average household budget is a lot less comfortable than people make it sound.
$2,189 a month for housing
$1,110 a month for transportation
$847 a month for food
$519 a month for food bought at home
$516 a month for healthcare
$816 a month for personal insurance and pensions
$6,545 a month in total average household spending
These are BLS 2024 household averages, not a bill every family pays exactly. Categories overlap with real-life budgeting, and individual costs vary.
But it helps explain why telling people to 'just budget better' can feel so detached from reality.
A spreadsheet can organize the pressure. It can't always make the numbers work.
Child care averages $13,184 a year.
Child Care Aware of America 2025 figure. That’s about $1,099 a month. Median household income is $87,460. Census.
CHILD CARE ALONE IS ROUGHLY 15% OF MEDIAN INCOME.
HHS has called 7% of income the affordable benchmark for years. Most families I know are well above that.
Is the 7% childcare affordability benchmark something you still hear discussed?
Every ISP call, basically:
You: “Hi, my internet bill went from $55 to $104. Is that a mistake?”
Rep: “Not a mistake. Your 12-month promotional rate ended this month.”
You: “Nobody told me that. I signed up for $55 a month.”
Rep: “It’s in the terms you accepted at sign-up. Your new rate is $89 for service plus a $15 equipment fee.”
You: “That’s $49 more every month. $588 a year, for the exact same speed, on the same router.”
Rep: “I completely understand your frustration. The $55 was never your price. It was an introductory offer.”
You: “Then can I get another promotion? I’ve been a customer for a year.”
Rep: “Those are reserved for new customers. If you’d like, I can cancel your service and you can sign up again as one.”
You: “So the only way to keep the price is to leave and come back.”
Rep: “That’s one option. Is there anything else I can help you with today?”
Loyalty used to get you a discount. Now it gets you the full price.
My neighbor spent years paying down his truck loan so he could finally own it free and clear.
Earlier this month the engine threw a rod. Shop quoted him $6,800.
He called his credit union about a personal loan. They offered 11%. The dealership’s finance guy was standing right there and said he could put it on a 72-month note at 14.9% through the same bank, but the shop would get a $900 referral fee.
He asked what the difference was.
The finance guy said, “Same bank. We just get paid more if it goes through us.”
He took the higher rate because he needed the truck for work the next morning.
The only reason the rate was higher is that someone else got a cut. Crazy how that works!
We are not supposed to exist in a society where we are the servile little bitches for every insecure douche bag with a gun on his hip.
Last spring, my aunt's mortgage servicer force-placed insurance on her house after her policy lapsed for 19 days.
Her normal homeowners policy was $1,840 a year.
The force-placed policy they bought was $9,600 for twelve months.
It covered the structure for the lender only. Nothing for her stuff. Nothing for liability. Nothing for temporary housing if the place burned down.
They sent the two required notices. She got the second one while she was already shopping for a new policy. By the time she sent proof of coverage, the servicer had already advanced the full premium into her escrow account.
Her monthly payment jumped $640 until the shortage was paid back.
She called and asked why the policy cost more than five times what she could buy herself.
The rep said, “We place coverage with the carrier on our approved list. The premium is what it is. Once the charge hits the escrow, the payment change is automatic. You can submit a notice of error if you want it reviewed.”
She asked what happens if she just refuses to pay the higher amount.
“The loan goes delinquent. Then the foreclosure timeline starts.”
She paid it.
Apparently, losing coverage for three weeks can result in a year of premium payments for a policy that prioritizes the bank's interests over yours.
It blows my mind that people debate housing costs without looking at basic population math.
In 1970, the US had 150 million fewer people, and world population was under 4 billion.
Today we’re at 8+ billion, headed toward 10 billion by 2080.
We are trying to run a modern economy on land usage and housing models built for a planet with half as many humans.
Total head in the sand situation.
You could double every American’s salary and wipe out their student debt tomorrow and the average home price would still jump.
The problem is there isn’t ENOUGH supply.
America still has a housing shortage, yet landlords and corporate owners continue to charge exorbitant rents.
THIS IS GOING TO MAKE SOME LANDLORDS ANGRY BUT…
Too many of 'em buy a house with a $3,500 mortgage, split it into six living areas, and rent each one for $1,000. That’s $6,000 coming in and $2,500 profit off housing.
Housing is a necessity. So is food. There should be a limit on how much profit you can pull from either. Restaurants and hotels are different. They’re optional.
Somebody just trying not to be homeless shouldn’t have to fund a landlord’s lifestyle.
Police force should actively demonstrate their presence, vigilantly observe their surroundings for any potential criminal activity.
Officers dancing and participating in crowds, while seemingly positive, lead to a dangerous complacency.
My brother totaled his 2019 Tacoma last month.
He owed $4,200 on it.
The insurance company sent him a CCC One valuation: $17,850.
He looked up the same trucks within 40 miles. Lowest clean one was listed at $21,400.
The report used three “comparables.” One had 48,000 more miles. One was a base model missing his TRD package. The third was 180 miles away and sold three months ago.
They applied a $1,640 “condition adjustment” across the board. No one inspected the truck.
He called the adjuster.
“That’s the market value according to the software. If you disagree you can invoke the appraisal clause. It costs $500 to $800 and takes 30 to 60 days. Most people just take the check.”
He asked what happens to the difference if he finds a higher offer later.
“The settlement is final once you cash it.”
He took the check. The truck he could actually replace cost him another $3,200 out of pocket.
You don’t get the value of what you lost.
You get the number the company’s algorithm was built to produce.
I bought a used washer from a big-box store for $680 cash.
The salesman spent ten minutes trying to get me to finance it at 0% for 12 months.
When I said no, the guy lowered his voice and said the store makes almost nothing on cash sales but gets a flat $120 from the finance company on every approved application.
I asked him what happens if I pay it off early.
'Nothing for you. We already got paid.'
I paid cash anyway. The salesman stopped being helpful the second the transaction didn’t generate the fee.
The product was the same either way. The store just preferred the version where someone else was also getting paid.
College degree got my brother a barista job working 22 hours a week at a coffee shop.. tips literally determine if he can make ends meet.
His manager had the nerve to tell him to 'budget better' while refusing to give him full-time hours. Meanwhile, rent and groceries eat his entire paycheck before the bills are even due.
When our mom worked a entry-level job at his age, she was able to pay her way through night school on it. He has the exact same kind of job today and is just praying a Venmo payment clears before his gas bill bounces.
Hard work used to guarantee a basic living. Now you show up every single day and still end up behind.
HOW ARE PEOPLE FINANCING THIS LEVEL OF EXISTING?
i'm genuinely convinced half the people buying $500k - $600k houses on 5 acres in small towns aren't working jobs that actually exist in that city.
you go to a town where the median local salary is $48,000 a year, but every new subdivision is selling out at $750k to people driving brand-new $100k SUVs.
WHAT DO THESE PEOPLE DO FOR A LIVING?
