To say again - a period of quiet reflection from the city of Manchester should be encouraged wholeheartedly.
โNone of Manchester Lifeโs homes are affordable, and the developer does not pay any subsidies for local amenities, known as section 106 payments.
โRivals say the partnership has created an uneven playing field for developing the lucrative east Manchester corridor next to the Etihad. โThis is a sweetheart deal between the council and Abu Dhabi,โ said one. โThey get the land without any fair competition process, they can build apartment blocks, and when the blocks start earning millions the council gets no rental income. Yep the EA are up to their old tricks again. The EA are charging Coca-Cola ยฃ6,070 a year to abstract water from the north of England which Coca-Cola then sells for ยฃ30 million.
Did I mention that according to the EA by 2050 in England we will need to find another 5 billion litres of water per day just to keep our taps running and to try and save our chalk streams.

Constituents will be appalled that they, the taxpayer, have likely subsidised this by over ยฃ5m.
