I was dressed exactly like this when I was run over in Moycullen in broad daylight.
The factors that most strongly influence cyclist safety are driver speed, enforcement levels, road layout, and safe cycling infrastructure, not what we are wearing. A 🧵

The importance of visibility on our roads cannot be understated, particularly for vulnerable road users including pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter drivers and motorcyclists.

Why can’t @corkcitycouncil do more with Washington Street and sort out the cycle lanes and talk with businesses and get them to look after their buildings. We are coming into tourist season and this is their first impression of Cork. 😡@jerrybuttimer @PadraigRice @EoinBearla

Lads this is a joke. Loads have been begging for more greenery in the City and all we get is excuses. Now we know we won’t get the bigger stuff since they can’t just replace trees in tree bases that are already there. Looks to be 3 trees paved over. Pics from @seany__dunne

This is heartbreaking. 💔 André Castro Ladeiro’s mother lay beside her 8-year-old son in the hospital as he passed away, describing it as “the world’s worst nightmare.”
The driver who ran a red light? Jailed for just 3 years with 1 year suspended.

I’m deeply honoured to have been elected as a TD for Cork South Central.
A huge thank you to the over 5,000 people who went out in the rain on Friday to put a number 1 next to my name. I really appreciate the support.
This is a historic breakthrough for the Social Democrats as it’s the first time we have won a seat in this constituency.
In Cork South Central, we ran a really energetic campaign. We knocked on thousands of doors right across the constituency. I had a fantastic team of volunteers who put their hearts and souls into it.
Our campaign was positive, progressive and solutions-focused – I think that really resonated with people.
I would like to thank everyone I met during the campaign. On the doors, people shared their worries, hardships and concerns. One thing is crystal clear: people want to see real change in relation to housing, healthcare, disability, childcare and climate. I hope this election is the catalyst for that change.
