he's just so boring 馃槶 i love elijah wood but some of those pacing choices were absolutely atrocious... i get the intent behind walter but. did we really need 2+ seasons of him?
Replying to @Margs_the_Comfy
oh it's definitely possible (likely, even) but I do think it's very important that this scene is placed first. it's important for shifting the way *all* of the girls perceive him and breaking their trust in his authority but the specific focus on Misty just makes me think. shrug
Replying to @catrahark
they were really giving misty NOTHING to work with in s2 it's so tragic.... especially after just how good s1 adult tl was
Replying to @amyelliottdone
ABSOLUTELY. she would have loved trying to get ai to generate images of caligula's humansona without actually providing a reference image
Replying to @SandsofTide @Margs_the_Comfy
she's punishing him but rather that him hitting her primes her to think of him in a more physical way than she did before. whether it's because she sees him break, or because she's reacting strongly to abuse targeting herself? who can say
Replying to @SandsofTide @Margs_the_Comfy
obviously the examples you've listed are all breaches of consent but trying to grope him in his sleep, tripping him, drugging him, coercing him into "admitting" attraction towards her... all of these start *after* he hits her
my intention with this observation isn't to say-
Replying to @Margs_the_Comfy
oh I don't mean to imply it did! She was definitely abusing her power as a caretaker beforehand, but most of her *sexual* harassment towards him only starts after this scene. while she ignores his boundaries before, she doesn't actually try to assault him until after this scene

"ooh nat you should stop humoring her it's bad for you don't encourage her" as if THEY want to deal with this?? like they would want misty stalking her and sabotaging their cars and smiling at them and buying them coffee. whatever
Replying to @abnormallynorml
no seriously i hope for their sakes they just want each other because if not what are we doing
sorry i'll be less annoyingly spammy about my rewatch as soon as we get out of s1 territory. theres just so much to say about these episodes even though i am actually just skimming
nat saying they "brought it back with them" when misty is the progenitor of the entire concept of "it" in her mind and by keeping her secret she ensured misty made it back with them.....

RIGHT and the way "Other Tai" is innately connected to it even though Tai rejects it .... there's something there
Replying to @stardustalien16
it's literally just for the good of the team ok. she wants to check up on travis and she needs misty for that. she wants to help shauna with adam and she needs misty for that. she'll go to prom with her if thats what it takes to help the others don't look at her like that
said it before and ill say it again. very interesting how misty only really starts crossing boundaries with ben after he breaks down and hits her in the face. note the past tense in "we needed you" into present tense "I'm here for you" ...
Replying to @stardustalien16
ignore the fact that she was smiling so softly and that she was the first person she went to when she got out of rehab and that she invited her to a bar as soon as misty said they should trust each other. that's irrelevant misty's just obsessed with her ://
Replying to @lavenderwhtever
yeah she really values her agency and her privacy and general accuracy of information... she has no morals but she has STANDARDS

when tai becomes antler queen and they both have to deal with the pressure of being religious figureheads despite their own turbulent relationship with christianity and also akilah is there..... it will go crazy
jackie only walking in mostly clothed water only just above her ankles could also speak to the way she never properly adjusts to it and outright rejects it even though she *is* connected in some way as the group's original leader? idk
there's the obvious "every antler queen" has been submerged before they are crowned bit (baptism) but even beyond that water is very closely tied to "it" (Other Tai in the taivan bath scene)... misty has never believed and it never wanted her?
