If you've been wondering where I've been gone, it's been here studying filmmaking. And now we're in the depths of fundraising for our final uni year assessment film. Any kind of donations or sharing it around would be a huge help (1/4)

I think it’s worth examining a union run by celebrities…. When an industry has little opportunity for women, NB, poc workers, perhaps the union should, I don’t know, prioritize protecting their own marginal working/middle class?

Things feel so bleak lately. Everyone’s discussing celebrities while Palestine falls into the backdrop. My village, Beit Iksa, is being taken over by settlers in real time, and it doesn’t even register in the psyche of so many Palestine supporters in the West.
Israeli settlers have established a second outpost in the village of Beit Iksa, northwest of Jerusalem, Palestine’s Wafa news agency has reported.

The NHS just cancelled all gender-affirming surgery in Wales, after a gender-critical "journalist" complains in The Times that the Welsh Gender Service *only* has a two-year wait list.
We don't hate these people enough.

The waitlist in Scotland being 220 years isn't enough to prompt "emergency action" from the NHS, but when the Welsh gender service gets a bit too efficient it has to be shut down!
The purpose of a system is what it does.
Trans healthcare does not functionally exist on the NHS.
Hundreds, if not thousands of patients, who have already gone through years of waiting, who had already made plans for travel and accommodation, have had their surgeries cancelled for entirely political reasons.
Disgraceful! Shame on the NHS!

Heba Muraisi is on day 69 of her hunger strike.
Kamran Ahmed is on day 62 of his hunger strike.
They are at risk of dying at any moment. This is a political choice by Keir Starmer’s Labour government.
Immediate bail for remand prisoners NOW.

Tonight, outside HMP New Hall, protesters were attacked by police with pepper spray as they attended a solidarity demo for Heba, now on day 62 of hunger strike
Despite their use of violence, the energy continued within the prison too, with other prisoners participating.

Venezuela has the world’s largest oil reserves — and that’s no coincidence.
This is naked U.S. imperialism: an illegal assault on Caracas aimed at overthrowing a sovereign government and plundering its resources.
Starmer’s Labour government must condemn this unequivocally.

This time last year, we were campaigning for Alaa Abd el-Fattah’s freedom. Today he is with his family, where he belongs.
This is thanks to the extraordinary courage, determination and campaigning of Alaa’s family, led by his mother Laila. ❤️
This morning I stood with Laila Soueif — Alaa Abd el-Fattah’s mother — outside the Foreign Office on her 81st day of hunger strike.
Laila’s life is at risk, and the fight to free Alaa has never been more urgent. His future is in @DavidLammy’s hands. #FreeAlaa

After 48 and 49 days, Qesser Zuhrah and Amu Gib have paused their hunger strike.
Their bravery has laid bare the cruelty of a Labour government wanting them to die. They refused to give them that — and will resume in the new year.
Four others remain at a critical point, refusing food until their demands are met, UK complicity ends and Palestine is free.
Shame on you, David Lammy and Keir Starmer.
Immediate bail for remand prisoners now.

When you live in a hyper individualist society like the US, your personal comfort matters more than anything else. You do not grieve the snow because “now I don’t have to shovel it”. You don’t notice the confusion of the trees because to you they are not truly alive.

An unfortunate fact about climate change is that majority of people simply will not care until massive food and water shortages begin. Peoples connection to the land has been so thoroughly severed they don’t care that it’s 80 degrees on christmas bc it’s just “nice weather”.

Direct action must be preserved. It sets us free.
Our hunger strikers are dying, protests are not working. We must do everything in our power. ESCALATE.
As with the EHRC, as with the Palestinian resistance, it is a moral imperative to disobey unjust laws.
