And she supported Brexit. She can shut up and her rich uncle Forte is in tax exile in Switzerland. His business suffers from lack of eastern Europeans working in his hotels. Serve them right!

Who is sidelining entropy? It still increases on Earth, but the Sun counteracts it by providing new, usable energy.
It's the entire reason you can do something as mundane as freeze water (a more chaotic, higher entropy system) into ice (a more ordered, lower entropy system).

A designer had no reason to reuse a bacterial chromosome-segregation motor, but evolution predicts exactly that.

Here's a question I'd love a journalist to ask a minister.
Why should a British citizen need immigration permission to take a job in France when they didn't before Brexit?
And what is the government's ambition for restoring that freedom?
It's a simple question. It deserves an answer.

Basic education piece:
Not all Jewish people are Zionists.
Lots of Zionists aren't Jews.
The Board of Deputies largely self identity as Zionists.
The Media often report the Board of Deputies as the opinion of Jewish people.
Yet many Jewish people say #NotInOurName

I find it amazing that the UK, an island off mainland europe, managed to build up car manufacturing to the point where it rivalled Germany in 2016.
That was pretty good going for the UK.
Then the Brexit vote hit and killed it.
The decline of the British car industry came in two Brexit stages.
1. Uncertainty post-referendum weakened the industry
2. Trade arrangements that replaced EU membership did lasting damage.

Eu membership widens the market both for new member countries and existing ones. This is a financial opportunity not a burden.

Britain used to be a member of the EU.
Now some politicians want us to celebrate the possibility of a customs union.
It's rather like losing your house and being told to cheer up because someone might let you use the garage.
Can we please raise our ambitions?

Energy profits should have built national wealth, not private fortunes. Instead, ordinary families face eye-watering bills while shareholders cash in. Imagine what those profits could have done for heating, housing and the NHS. Public resources should benefit the public.

Gent wonders why the UK isn't doing what Norway did with putting energy profits into a sovereign wealth fund.
Who's going to tell him that we've nearly exhausted all of the oil and gas in the North Sea, and that politicians preferred to extract profits rather than invest them for our national security.
That is the real failure: politicians treated a finite national resource like ordinary income.
Now they point to the small amount left as a reason to keep drilling, when the lesson should be to invest what remains and build lasting wealth through clean energy, industry and infrastructure.
