In this manuscript we attempt to quantify the many overlapping pathophysiologic themes between cancer and CVD. To do so, we integrated transcriptomic datasets for cancer and CVD. We then used these data to predict compounds that target the mutually detrimental pathways.
Great Job Leeper Lab members @ScientistBaylis and @ghbore as co-first authors on the iScience publication studying the overlapping pathophysiologic themes between cancer and cardiovascular disease. @NickLeeper78 @StanfordSurgery sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

We hope this provides an early view at a new frontier for the treatment of cancer and cardiovascular disease, where mutual benefit is the aim of new therapeutics.

#SaveTheThymus Kooshesh et al demonstrate a critical role for the adult thymus in human health. Was blown away by this observation when Kameron presented it as a casual chalk talk after morning rounds. So cool to see it in print! Congrats @KAKooshesh and Brody and all involved!

Excited to share some of the exciting science coming out of the Leeper Lab at #AHA2022! Our poster [today at 3PM, #2078] outlines our efforts to identify mutually detrimental pathways (?possible clinical targets) between cancer and cardiovascular disease. Come chat!

It has been an honor to have you on my thesis committee! Thank you for all your guidance and encouragement along the way!
I learned so much during @ScientistBaylis PhD defense today. He is a great presented and has produced the most intellectually rich PhD thesis I have ever read in addition to all the great work he has done in @lab_owens. What a privilege to be on his committee.
