So for all the folks asking from the @Padres and @RaysBaseball game, there is ZERO chance this is anything but a home run. Taylor doesn’t drop the ball, it’s jarred out of his glove when he hits the wall after leaping for the ball. This is absolutely not an error.
This is a two-run homer, and two earned runs against Mason Miller.
Thanks to @PadresCentral_ for the video.

🚨FOURTH OUT MISTAKE!!!🚨
NO WAY!!! @RedSox at @BlueJays and in the 7th Boston has first and third and one out. Ceddanne Rafaela hits a fly to center and both runners forget there was one out and just ran without tagging up. After the ball was caught, the Blue Jays threw the ball in and doubled off the runner at first, for an inning ending double play.
Since the runner from third scored BEFORE the third out, the run counts because this is not a force, but a timing play.
What Toronto SHOULD have done is after the out at first, they legally could have thrown to third and appealed that that runner left early. This would have been the elusive FOURTH OUT and this would have replaced the third out and nullified the run.
Once all the infielders crossed the foul line, the ability to appeal the play was lost, and once that happened, the run was officially counted.

🚨ABANDONMENT ALERT🚨
It's always the @Phillies ... unreal!
Luis Arraez is called out for abondonment as he leapt over both the tag at home, and home itself. Instead of trying to get back to touch the base and avoid the catcher, he just heads to the dugout and peaces out.
You can see the umpire waits, and once he gets to the dugout, the umpire calls him out. For this, the putout is still to the catcher, and all assists are accounted for, so this was a double for Bohm, and Arraez is out at home 9-4-2.
Also, while Arraez started on second, this is still considered a double by rule, as you can have a double despite the runner on second being out at home. Had there been a runner on FIRST, and that runner was thrown out at third, by rule, that can only be a single, so Bohm gets a double here.

🚨OVERSLIDE SCORING🚨
We have another oversliding situation, this one a little different. @Dodgers hosting @RedSox and Andy Pages hits one to the gap, and should be safe but on his pop-up slide he lost contact with the base.
This is considered an over slide (even though he is popping up on the slide), so he doesn’t get credit for safely obtaining second. He only gets a single, and is out stretching.

For those asking why Jasson Doninguez of the @Yankees was not credited with a triple against the @whitesox, it's in the rules in a couple of places, but this exact play is covering in rule 9.06(c)(Determining the value of base hits)
"(c) When the batter attempts to make a two-base hit or a three-base hit by sliding, he must hold the last base to which he advances. If a batter-runner overslides and is tagged out before getting back to the base safely, he shall be credited with only as many bases as he attained safely. If a batter-runner overslides second base and is tagged out, the Official Scorer shall credited him with a one-base hit; if the batter-runner overslides third base and is tagged out, the Official Scorer shall credit him with a two-base hit."
So nothing weird from the scorer, they got this one perfect and on the nose, it's just a double.

🚨WEIRD PLAY ALERT🚨
From the ninth inning of today’s @Twins at @cubs game, where Brooks Lee singles into a double play.
With first and second, Lee singles, but the base runners jam up, and Lee runs into the runner in front of him and cannot advance, so this goes as a single to center, and then an 84253 double play.

🚨CONFIRMED NON-CHANGE🚨
I have now confirmed that the Mookie Betts play from the @Rockies at @Dodgers game on 7/6 where Betts reached on an error was appealed and upheld, meaning this play will not be changing.
The committee ruling here is that while the ball is hit hard, and Julien is playing in, this is a play that a second baseman should make, so this will stay as an error, meaning no hit or RBi for Betts on this play.

I’ve had a ton of questions regarding today’s first inning in Kansas City regarding the @Phillies at @Royals, and why all six runs were earned despite an error.
The error by Turner is a throwing error, and while a good throw would have ended the inning, this is NOT an assumed out error because of the out at second base (this is where you don’t assume a double play).
So, even without this error, all six runs would have scored, so the six earned runs against Christopher Sánchez is correct.
EDIT: adding this, but again, the error here is only for the extra base advancement, not for being safe at first, as the batter officially was safe on a fielder’s choice.
The only way you could have an error on this is if the throw was a good one and on target, and the first baseman missed or dropped it. Outside of that, the error is just for the extra bases, not for how the batter reached. He reached on a fielder’s choice.

Here is the play in question from the @Reds at @Brewers game.
The only error there could be is a missed catch error on Bauers at first, but this sure looks like Bleday has this play beat at first.
This is purely a judgment call from the scorer, and I’m sure it is being discussed, but if he thinks Bleday is out, the error is correct, making the four runs in the inning unearned to Jacob Misiorowski.
If he thinks the play would have been a single if he held onto it, all four runs are earned.
I’m sure Bleday will appeal for a hit, because I thought he was safe regardless.
But, this is a complete judgment call by the scorer in Milwaukee.

🚨ODD SCORING ALERT🚨
... and AGAIN, it's from the @Rockies, who are keeping me busy. Against the @RedSox today, the Rockies did the very difficult thing of grounding into a force out that was also a sacrifice fly.
It's true. With one out and the bases loaded, Cole Carrigg lined a ball to right that was dropped by Wilyer Abreu. Tyler Freeman was tagging up, and he scored, but Hunter Goodman was hung up and thrown out on a force play at second.
However, this still goes as a sacrifice fly for Carrigg. That's because of Rule 9.08(d) Comment:
"The Official Scorer shall score a sacrifice fly in accordance with Rule 9.08(d)(2) even though another runner is forced out by reason of the batter becoming a runner."
These don't happen very often, and there is no error charged here, because the force out was obtained but this is a ground out for the pitcher, yet it's a sacrifice fly.

🚨ODD DOME SCORING ISSUE🚨
Today in the first inning of the @Royals at@RaysBaseball game, this ball hit by Maikel Garcia would have been a fairly easy catch for left fielder Chandler Simpson.
However, the ball hit the B-ring and bounded back towards the infield, and shortstop Ben Williamson just missed it. The play was ruled a double, with my guess being that it is not being considered ordinary effort to catch a ball that ricocheted off the ring when Williamson wasn't expecting it.
The tough part is the ball is clearly catchable and right in the glove of Williamson, but is it ordinary effort for a shortstop to be spun around facing the outfield like that? It's certainly nothing you can practice.
Since Garcia didn't score, I doubt this ever gets appealed, but a goofy play that pretty much only happens in Tampa.

🚨CYCLE SCORING ALERT🚨
Tons of folks sent this one in from the @Phillies and @Mets game, with Bryce Harper completing the cycle with this fifth inning triple.
I believe this was scored correctly as a triple.
This falls under Rule 9.06; Determining the Value of Base Hits.
The key is Harper never slowed down at all and was going for third the whole time. One of the things the scorer has to determine is whether or not Harper went to third on the throw or not.
He obviously was going for third regardless, and the fact that he would have been out is inconsequential here.
The OS Manual states this:
“Had the bases been empty, would the batter-runner have attempted to advance the extra base? If not, the value of the base hit should not include the additional base.”
The answer on this one is yes, Harper would have ATTEMPTED to advance. Doesn’t say if he would have been safe. Since he would have attempted this regardless of the throw home, he was, IMHO, correctly credited with a triple.
