FACT CHECK:
โ
Local Green groups were given an opportunity to denounce the disgraceful "Zionism is Racism" policy and call on their leadership to do the same.
โ
Several did, and those local arrangements remain in place.
โ It's disappointing more Green groups didn't feel they could do the same - we continue to call on the Green Party to drop this appalling policy.
โ
Today's action addresses support for this unacceptable policy - which clearly crosses a line. Local power sharing arrangements cannot come at the expense of upholding the moral obligation we have to stand up for everyone in our communities and the values we share.
โ Today's action was not about whether people can or cannot criticise the actions of the Israeli Government - as the Labour Party repeatedly has.
โ Any suggestion that today's action was about anything other than the "Zionism is Racism" policy is plain misinformation.
โ
Labour councillors will continue working hard day in, day out for their local communities. That's what we do.
Rejoining the EU is the biggest lever we have as a country to getting back on track.
The Ipsos Mori survey found that 56% now say they would vote in favour of becoming part of the EU again.
At the same time the number who back staying out has fallen three points to 30%.
That polling must really tempt Burnham towards an early election.
Westminster Voting Intention:
Labour extend lead
๐ด LAB: 31% (+3)
โก๏ธ RFM: 22% (-1)
๐ต CON: 21% (+2)
๐ถ LDM: 8% (=)
๐ข GRN: 8% (=)

The entire ยฃ83,000 #CelebrityTraitors prize fund going towards supporting refugees and queer displaced people feels bloody wonderful in such wretched times marked by fearmongering and inhumane politics โ even more so knowing there will be many right-wingers enraged by that. โค๏ธ
Good news about a Lancashire Mayor, but I fear this will be based on the current clunky Combined County Authority model that sees Blackpool and Blackburn unitaries at the top table with Lancashire CC, with other Lancs councils frozen out. Fingers crossed it's not.
What an utter mess the Green Party are.
'Is that a really good use of his time?'
'Raising money for a cancer charity?'
The Green Party's @floschechter brands Andy Burnham going on Gogglebox as 'ridiculous'.
Electoral reform is a valid debate, but tbqhwy, Iโd rather see us rejoin the EU and replace the House of Lords with an elected second chamber first.
Both feel like bigger priorities to me.
Remembering the formidable anti-racist campaigner Anwar Ditta.
A working-class Kashmiri woman, she was born in Birmingham and lived in Rochdale, sharing platforms with the likes of Tony Benn and Arthur Scargill and leading numerous anti-deportation campaigns.
The Green Party surge was always going to disintegrate. Their small core membership is joined by a strange mix of shy Tories and rejects from other parties driving their own agendas.
Less debate. More social housing.
Councils or housing associations? I donโt mind who builds them. We need more genuinely affordable homes.
If councils can deliver, let them. If housing associations can, let them. If they can work better together, do that.
Just get on with it.

90 years ago today, fascists tried to march through Cable Street. Thousands of ordinary people stood in their way
They did not pass
Different decade, different slogans, but the politics of division and scapegoating remains familiar
Remember Cable Street. They shall not pass

Our Chair and NEC rep, Kerry Postlewhite, with some of the Mainstream members who joined our campaign session in Holborn & St Pancras today.
See you back there tomorrow! ๐น
Brilliant result for Labour in Blackpool last night, against a high profile Reform UK candidate.
Reform have peaked and are rapidly sliding away, and the Tory vote has absolutely collapsed.
Yes! ๐
Our reaction to the Prime Ministerโs speech in @LabourList ๐น
Radical realism in action. Mainstream Labour values in practice.

ALT 'Radical realism in action' Mainstream, a soft-left group backed by Burnham, said that the speech delivered on their calls for radical change. The group's interim council said: "Andy Burnham - our Prime Minister, the leader of the Labour Party, and a signatory to Mainstream's founding statement - just announced some of the most radical reforms this country has seen for the best part of a century. "Electoral reform. Public control. A new settlement for social care. And much, much more. "Radical realism in action, Mainstream Labour values in practice. We're not just changing the Labour Party, we are changing the country."
