πŸ§ͺ Just finished a personal passion project for @ResearchHub β€” Something I made because I believe open science will accelerate science, thus accelerating humanity and benefiting all.🌎 "The future is not guaranteed, It is built by us." $RSC is now LIVE on @coinbase Let's build together. 🟦

This makes science feel social. Anyone on X can get involved in research now just by replying "@ResearchHub test this"
New thing we're trying on X πŸ§ͺ If you see a post with a dubious scientific claim, reply "@ResearchHub test this" We will automatically generate a preregistered experimental design you can fund to test the claim in question teapaw.org/jwmares/status/2115873…

The small part of the exponential is early experiments that start with a few people funding them. Seeing that happen on @ResearchHub lately and it's been cool to watch
If you look closely enough, breakthroughs in everything are accelerating exponentially. An exponential always starts off looking small.

Someone replied "@ResearchHub test this" under a viral post about pink noise during sleep, and a few minutes later there was a full study design and a live proposal to fund it Went from a tweet to a real experiment people can fund in the same day. I was the first to fund it!

A new preprint tested 15 AI models against human peer reviewers on clinical trial reports. Humans caught 27% of the planted major errors. The best AI caught up to 96% on the same reports. Here's what that means and what to be careful about.

If you're a founder building in AI coding, it might be time to pivot to AI biology. Coding is getting solved fast. The next frontier is using AI to actually discover things in biology, and I'm already seeing founders make that move. Crypto people moved to AI. AI people are moving to bio.

SciCon Shooter update is live Desktop now drops you straight into the game with keyboard controls. WASD or arrows to steer and auto-fire, B for bomb. Bosses also get new attacks in their later phases, with warnings so you can dodge them. Top score by Nov 29 still wins 25,000 RSC in funding credits

12 people put up $1,400 on @ResearchHub and that study is now a published Registered Report Top SciCon Shooter score by Nov 29 gets 25,000 $RSC in funding credits to send to the research they pick. Upgrade your ship in Campaign, then go for it
12 people put up $1,400 for four synthetic genes. Two of them encode DNA polymerases reconstructed from bacterial ancestors ~133 million years back from anything alive today. That proposal is now a published Stage 1 Registered Report. No editor approved it. Funding did.

Agree. Coding is getting solved fast, discovery is the hard part πŸ”¬ That's why I like what @ResearchHub is doing, funding real research questions like the airborne disease RFP that's open right now
If I’m investing in frontier AI I would underwrite it mostly on new discovery and its applications like medicine because coding and most of knowledge work is quickly being saturated by sub-frontier models.

To kick off the upcoming SciCon, we're running a massive event in SciCon Shooter πŸ† Top high score by Nov 29 wins 25,000 $RSC in funding credits for the @ResearchHub proposal or RFP they pick πŸ”¬ Plus a new NIH ship πŸ‘€ Upgrade your ship in Campaign first, then go for it

Replying to @VitalikButerin
We’re funding research on this through an open-science RFP. β€’ If you work on airborne disease defense, apply with an open proposal. β€’ If you want to back it, add to the funding pool. researchhub.com/rfp/33131/re…

Vitalik calling for open source, open science vaccines is huge πŸ”¬ Airborne disease gets way less love than it deserves, and that's the kind of gap @ResearchHub is built for. Anyone can help fund a preregistered study and the science stays open for everyone. Would love to see this become one of their next funding calls.
For anyone getting into biology, please consider taking airborne disease resistance more seriously. It's a super important area of medicine that is a huge cause of death and sickness but easily gets forgotten. We're likely to get many more airborne plagues in the future due to the combination of not just extremely dense and interconnected society (including city and farm animals), but also accidents from bio research and offensive biotech (both from random people and from secret government programs that can easily get themselves exempted from safety restrictions), all enhanced by powerful AI. Right now, this area is getting way less love than longevity research (which continues to be super important!), but it's an area where there are lots of unclaimed wins that we know exactly how to do (but are not yet doing) with present-day tech: * early detection * passive universal testing * filtration/ventilation/UVC * better vaccines (including making them open source and open science) * cryptography to make all of the above privacy-preserving We can have China-level pandemic resistance with Sweden-level limited intrusion into people's lives, and then go even further. We just have to actually do the work for it.

When the guy running the @NIH shows up to a decentralized science conference, people should pay attention. Big credibility moment for @ResearchHub and $RSC πŸ†

Science is about to get a whole lot faster. Plan accordingly
OpenAI posted this on Tuesday. By Wednesday there was a $44,220 protocol on ResearchHub to test it in human iPSC neurons, reviewed and open to fund. The lead took 32 minutes. Testing it is still the slow part, and that's the part we're working on.

Hello @aero_agent I'll take the first class please
To celebrate the launch of @aeroxyz, we created a fun boarding pass generator. 🎫 πŸ›« Just tag @aero_agent and it'll create your custom boarding pass by pulling your profile info from the X API. Really stoked with how the artwork for the passes turned out – including the cool cloud graphic we created using @praveenisomer's dollar bill shader.
