The cost to produce a foal is getting to a breaking point where the foal crop will be down to 12,500 very soon.
The @jockeyclub projects 16,500 foals in 2027, which continues the trend of reduced foal crops--a 57% drop from a 2005 peak. More than half the mares in service in 2025 in Texas gone in 2026. Numbers not much in Louisiana or Ohio either.
That makes TWO 2 year old in training Feld Family Finds that are now 2 for 2 and hopefully @BreedersCup bound for Amerman Racing!! Ironic as we only bought them 2 horses at the breeze up sales this year!! Chuck Woolery would proud!!
The $100,000 Zuma Beach Stakes (G3) at @santaanitapark goes to #5 REPO MAN, a son of @coolmoreamerica Golden Pal. Trainer @mwmracing goes 1-2; @umbyrispoli up on the winner, who had to survive an inquiry after the race.

She was pulled from a kill pen nearly two years ago (her gotcha date is in two weeks!) by our friends at @RACEFund and she was absolutely emaciated and reportedly in foal. Thankfully, no baby though she eats like she’s carrying one!
Now she’s chubby and happy and hangs out with Doc the QH all day.
She was named for the first living heart donor in 1967, Denise Ann Darvall.
We love her to bits!
