Theres a lot of nuance in the in-bewteen titles. Not only that but Union-Cross has some stupid big lore implication for the universe that is Kingdom Hearts.
A catch up video is probably fine but all the games are so good and have so many "AH HAH!" moments that a vid might miss

This. Granted some of the games have been turned into movies now so you dont have to physically play them all but you have to experience everything.
The story isn't that convoluted and you get some banger references if you go back and replay them
Ever since I was young I always wondered why the Jedi put a collar on all emotions. Like the strongest Jedi could just be a dude who loves to fight and feeds off the joy it brings him. The wisest could be a scholar who gets excited and overjoyed over learning abt diff cultures
